Are they crazy? I was just asked if me and my other co worker can come in this weekend to help paint our new office? (by other co worker who’s not the official “boss”) I’m not getting paid and gas is so fucking expensive. i’m going to obviously say no- but other co worker is being kiss ass and saying he’ll help.. I don’t understand how they think that’s acceptable. Any thoughts on what I can say lol.

My boss is the type of person who always needs someone to blame. They have a very “I can do no wrong” attitude and will often gaslight me to make themselves seem in the right and me in the wrong. (Example: one time I missed work when we were working overtime for a week. my boss told me not to report that I worked overtime that day because it was just going to make up for my missing the day before. I cited company policy mandating reporting hours worked. Suddenly she didn't remember telling me not to report my hours). I do not care for the right/ wrong binary in the workplace, but rather being accountable and finding solutions. And I froze. I didn't have a good come back like “yet you can never have this body” or “better than you, have nothing to offer” etc. Instead i told him in a calming attitude: “HR is right across the room. Do you not want to come to work on Monday?” And I left. I'm so regret it. I want to report him to HR and hand in my notice. I felt so violated. My siblings suggested me to stick with it and let him know his words won't do shit to me. Of course, I have to change my attitude and personality around everyone, ie standofffish etc. Should I? What do I do now? I already hated and resent this job. I think I'll quit.

I work at a recycling facility, and I've been really frustrated lately. The boss seems perpetually angry always yelling and hollering, yet claims that he isn't angry and thinks this is completely normal and acceptable. He often addresses everyone as a group, and gets shocked when I speak up and asks why I'm so defensive and take everything personally and says no one else gets offended but they are just used to it and barely say anything. He accuses everyone of not doing any work which is a blatant exaggeration. Most recently, he was angrily hollering about how everyone was just standing there doing nothing when we had JUST finished the work that was on the belt. It threw me off because I had just gotten done with the work in front in me and didn't have time to notice if there was any more work coming up. When there…

So I'm about to quit my job. I don't have anything against my boss as a person, and I actually like my team and lead (so I want to feel bad, kind of.) In my state employers are not requires to pay out PTO upon termination. Complete horseshit, but I digress. Company policy that we signed onto in the handbook says that PTO payout is contingent upon leaving and working a 2 week notice. I've been with this company almost 2 years, and haven't gotten a cent of a raise. Inflation has effectively cut my pay by 11%. We are understaffed, overworked, and our meager team has supported our company growing from less than 1,000 to over 2,500 employees. I received a notice today that my company wants to install security software (SentinelOne) on my Mac; this is my personal computer that I use for work; I do my banking, personal email etc… and I'm worried I'm going to lose my privacy

Take your birthday off work. Even if it's not that important to you, even if you don't have any plans, even if it's just to lay in bed all day or do some other random thing, don't go to work. These corporations just want to take that much more from you, don't let them. If you ask beforehand and they're not giving it to you, take it. Call in sick.
