I've been suffering from mental health for some years. At one point, I nearly did something stupid. Stopped before anything happened, phoned my doctor for an urgent appointment and then told my manager what happened and I won't be in. He proceeded to say “Well come in after your appointment. Your still here so you're not that bad.” I got signed off for 2 weeks and my manager is still a sack of shit and still doesn't care. I'm surprised that I haven't quit yet

Is this an actual joke? Salary is only 35k a year when market average is 45k+

I am a student working at a convenience store to get by. I just transferred to move. She knows I'm a student and that this isn't a forever gig for me. I gave my new boss a three week heads up that I want off Saturday or Sunday Halloween weekend. . I am not set in stone and am flexible. This is a corporate store and I have seen this manager and other managers get all pissy when they have to step up to work another 8 hours because someone called out last minute. But when we try to give them a heads up they just deny it? Don't be surprised when people choose to call out when you refuse to work around them when they tell you their availability.
