Happening right now in Belgium: employees locked the CEO in his office and won’t let him out until he is transparent about their severance pay.

I hate these “My delivery sucked” posts. Half the comments are about escalating this with Amazon and getting the guy fired. Maybe stop buying from Amazon?

October 13: It’s easy to call one’s self a revolutionary…but it’s not easy to really be one. (Our local is headed for arbitration because the board left the table.)

Taken advantage of.

I'm IT Manager and the only programmer at a kids attraction I work at I the UK. My background is in childcare and management; so I have experience in HR, payroll, law, selling, policies. Sort of jack of all trades. I'm really happy just having programming, in charge of tills but I understand and am willing to step up to help in other areas if need be. Well in August our supervisor and HR hooked up and quite. Leaving us with no one to look after our 60 under 18 (we employ 14 to 16 year olds) and HR had done no paperwork for months. I've had sleep apnoea for a couple years and had more than one pre-employment for medical with sleep apnoea and no other doctor saw it as a problem. All these cost me $1000 all up and HR informed me they won't cover the cost of this. I'm tempted to talk to my direct report about this once I start, because there's…

Soft phones, no personal cell reimbursement

My company has switched to soft phones (no desk phones—calls are made on computer or through app on cell). We aren’t provided company phones and there is no plan to reimburse anyone for the use of their personal phones for work. To get through a normal day a typical employee is going to have to use the app on their phone to communicate with clients, customers and internal people. I’m in the US. Is this allowed? My cell plan isn’t exactly cheap. I feel like it’s a chipping away at my total compensation to have to provide a personal device to do my job.
