Can I legally be fired without reason?
Recently I started a new job (I really need the money) and I was signing paperwork for it. One of the notes stated that I “can be let go without reason or warning at anytime”. Is that legal? QLD australia if important.

I don't have a screenshot, but it was so memorable I never forgot it. I saw this posting on Indeed in mid-2018, so not all that long ago. The job description was for an admin assistant in the front office of an elementary school. Requirements: proof of typing 60+ words/minute, bachelor's degree with proof of B average or above in English, mathematics and science courses (basically you had to provide a transcript), and 7+ years of admin assistant experience in an educational setting. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred. The kicker was the pay rate: $10/hr. I often wonder how many actual applicants they had.
I am in college right now and every day I feel terrified about this whole idea of locking myself into a career. Jobs feel like being locked up against my will. I can't do it longterm; literally, I break down, and work has almost killed me before. Currently relying on family. What is being done to abolish this work bullshit? What do people envision and what actions are they taking? I am sure it will be a longterm battle to abolish work, but are there any steps I can take now that would increase the odds of being able to live a full, safe life, without having to work? Until then, has anyone escaped work? What'd you end up doing to survive? I seriously consider every day just selling all my belongings and traveling with my guitar, but my body doesn't function great so it would probably result in an…
