As a teenager I was always averse to the idea of over working myself or having little free time. It kinda lead me towards always trying to find easy jobs, and I try to never spend money to make up for the low pay. I love my schedule and free time but I don't make enough to live alone. What job or career path would you recommend for people who value free time and don't like to work too much?
To make a long story short I am 23F and I have worked a full-time office job for the last year and a half. I graduated before this with two bachelor's degrees & I do not work in either field which I am okay with. I will admit, my office job is better than most, decent environment and bosses & the best part is I make good money. But I LOATHE coming into an office five days a week for eight hours. Resigned from current position after just over 1 year of being with the company. A bit of background, my boss has been giving me more and more responsibility and has essentially shifted his role into me. He went on sabbatical for 2 months leaving me to run the company with little more than a few days notice. On his return I kept the additional responsibilities and have been slowly drowning in work. Having asked for a raise, I was met with shock and a promise of potentially a bonus when we have enough money to look at those sort of things. Cue my resignation, as soon as he left for his sabbatical I started looking for a new job. Yes, I know this is AntiWork sub but this firm pissed me off years ago to the point I just walked out on them. I got word yesterday from 3 (three) employees advising that they were laid off. They were part of a 10% (800 person) downsizing. Seems we have bad management (still) or they reduced the workforce to send those jobs overseas to be done cheaper.
