I was driving to work and just 2 blocks away from my house coca cola workers were striking in the yard of the business. i was thinking of maybe ordering pizza delivered to them or something. Really want to encourage striking since the community I live in is very conservative so I want to see more of this since we're a factory/farm town. Any ideas that would be helpful?

I had to wake up at the crack of dawn today to sit in queue for a zoom interview for nearly two hours to be told the position I applied for was full and they’d “keep me in mind”. Like, why not just tell me this instead of having me waste my entire morning waiting around for nothing?

Friend of mine started working at Tyson last month after graduating from MBA program, and was told last week Tyson is closing the Chicago office and she has to decide by November if she will relocate to Arkansas or quit. If she quits, she has to repay her signing bonus and relocation assistance, which is about $25,000. Who knows how many years this move has been in the works, yet they gave employees 45 days notice to uproot their lives or find a new job

I'm sure it's been said before but blaming poor people for the economy being stagnant when they literally don't have any money and rich people don't fucking spend any money is really funny to me. Like, hey dumb asses, you could be more rich if you paid us enough to give you more money, it's literally trickle up but if all the money is already at the top then nobody is going to get anywhere

So as the post says- I got word last night that my 60ish year old boss shot himself at the office Monday night.I work at a small law firm as a probate paralegal. It’s just me, him, the secretary, the part time bookkeeper and one other attorney (75). My boss also had three other legal related jobs on top of this firm. He’s expressed to me he has been overwhelmed and can’t get a handle on things. I was reassuring but didn’t think it was this bad. He really hadn’t been acting himself the past month. The bookkeeper kinda runs the place and has worked with my boss for 40 years. She told us to take all the time we needed to process this but I found out today at 230 pm that everyone BUT me was back at the office today. Like… he shot himself in the head literally…
