This happened to me back in June of this year, but I wanted to share this with y'all to hear your thoughts. I started this job at a dispensary near me as a packaging technician. The first two months I was there, I only packaged this one specific brand of vapes. The third month I was there, I was moved to a different section of the building due to a conflict with my supervisor (which is a whole other enraging story) and I did a little bit of everything there (gummies, vapes, prerolls, tinctures, etc.). While I was there, my QCers constantly gave me praise for being one of the fastest and having some of the highest output numbers in the room. I quit my job at a painting company over a month ago. I decided to keep my health insurance with them, so I would have to pay in full 300$ a month to keep my insurance for 9 more months. I think it's called COBRA? Anyways they just sent me the paperwork last week after saying they got my address wrong twice. I sent it back immediately the same day with a check to cover October 1st payment. But since they sent it so fucking late it terminated my insurance. I have therapy every week, and I had to cancel this week bc they told me my insurance is terminated until they recieve my check in the mail. I love how I have to suffer because other people couldn't do their fucking jobs, and nobody has to pay for anything except ME.

Yep you see that correctly! Last week I reached out to my HR about somethings that have been going on and I was told “give me a few days and I will get back with you” yesterday the one I made the complaint about came to my office confronted me about what i went to HR with and then pretty much fired me in the spot. This is why people don't go to HR for anything, you get retaliated against and instead of fixing the problem we sweep it under the rug and fire the people that brought the concern to light.

So I notice a lot of this sub seems to deal with stuff and people in the US, but I live on Prince Edward Island in Canada. I get paid 14.50$ an hour, when our province minimum wage went up, I got no raise, when I came back from the off season they gave me a whole fifty cent raise, I was making 14.00 for the first season. Also found out from my friend who I recommended that they got the same 50 cent raise as me after working there for maybe and month and was told not to tell me. I thought this job was great when I started, really hard work but I love my coworkers. How to handle this? Started a new position with a client with a third party company managing aspects of the clients process. The team is new to the account (less than a month) and the manager of my third party company is already threatening write ups on minuscule things like not updating the calendar for scheduled time off months in advance, threatening to decline PTO requests that are for less than 30 days in the future, talking down to everyone about how things are unacceptable treating everyone poorly. I’m in a position where I’m not being threatened, but I can see the rest of the teams frustration and can see most of them quitting over this treatment. I have this incompetent boss who avoids confrontation and is generally an idiot. We have a current hire who he has told in private is going to be my supervisor but does not have the official title. She has told me this but we have the same job. But she has been acting like it and reporting back to him. I’ve lately been ignoring her but now she is curious what days I will be coming in so that she can report back to him. He speaks to me through her as if that’s going to affect some change. I do what I can when I can as I currently have another job that has been paying me more. I stay at my old job bc I enjoy my work more but get paid way less than the other place.
