Hi all. I don't know why I'm posting this, for validation or for venting or for what. Mostly I just feel sort of insane and incredibly alone and isolated, and wanted to put this out in case anyone else is going through something similar somewhere and needs the validation too. For some background, I work for a city government entity for a small town. Our entire “department” only has 3 employees; one director and 2 part-time that do separate tasks. Previously, my current position was split up into 2 separate part-time positions where we did the same tasks but only worked about 5 hours a day. About a year ago, my previous director told us she would be leaving for a better opportunity and gave us the option to apply for her position before the job was even posted. My coworker and I both applied, and my coworker ended up…

my job is trying to take away unpaid pto
As of right now we can take off as many days as we want, even if we do not have pto. We just have to submit the request 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule. Now they're saying if we request a day off without having pto we get a write up. WTF. It's not my fault they don't have any staff

I am about to finish high school really soon and i didnt choose this job for high school. Anyone has any advice
This week, we had a mandatory all-staff meeting, which is not strange. We have them every month. The strange part this month is that it was our first in person all-staff meeting since COVID. That alone is questionable as we regularly get alerts that people are testing positive for COVID still. Then, they tell us it's a potluck. A mandatory $5 donation OR you can bring food. Now, this was presented to us as managers making us lunch originally. So, we have to go and we have to pay the managers for making us lunch. Then, the day before the meeting, I find out that we will not be discussing work at all. It's a mandatory social event that we are paying for. After the event, many of my coworkers have been kissing ass to the managers about it. Saying thank you for such a wonderful event. This rubs me…
I’m not even in the US…
I finally made my dream come true.
I finally did it. I actually walked out in an interview. I'm writing this because I've dreamed about doing this for months. I recently left a workplace because they were screaming at an an employee and he made suicidal comments. Sadness doesn't begin to describe it. Two years ago, I lost a coworker due to something similar. RIP bud. I am sick and tired of dreaming about rights to live. I'm sick of living in dark shadows created because we all deserve to live and work and eat. This last interview, she was complaining how the last employee was bad only to find out she couldn't afford rent and got evicted. As she laughed, she complained. E.v.i.l.
