I used to work at a small family-owned coffee shop about a year ago and reported them for wage theft among other things when I quit. I had plenty of proof. Apparently they got investigated and were not happy. I would see them around town and they would be passive aggressive towards me. My mom said it wasn't her fight but she saw the paychecks and they were wrong. Just the audacity to say that stuff in public…like…what? She was paying me under minimum wage and taking the credit card tips, as well as having us clock in and out wrong so she could pay us even less than that. I was working like 60 hours a week and only made $12,000 USD/year. Lesson learned for…

Bypass Time Tracking Software
I've been working remotely for a while and noticed that employers are starting to monitor their employees using tracking software. I have multiple laptops for my jobs and it was getting annoying having to wiggle my mouse every few minutes/hours. I got tired of doing that and wanted to look like I was working. After doing some research I found https://www.lazywork.xyz. Been using it for a couple of weeks now and works great so far. It switches between my desktop apps, scrolls, moves your mouse, and apparently does keyboard stuff too (haven't seen it actually type, and it doesn't mess up my workspace). I tried it out on Time Doctor which is a popular tracking software and it doesn't get flagged. Just thought I'd mention it for all the lazy workers out there.
