I put in my two weeks last week (a little over two weeks because I like my team). I received an offer at another company that was a 20% pay increase and had three weeks more PTO. My current employer basically said they couldn’t touch that offer and “hoped to retain me.” The resignation came shortly thereafter. In my place, the company brought over TWO internal transfers, both of whom make more than I do (it’s one of those orgs that have clear salary band breaks by title). Days previously, they said there was no way to bring more resources into the department—this was something I brought up consistently over the past few months and doing so earlier may have convinced me to stay. But now, f it. Guess who gets to train the two new team members? This guy. Guess who is going to play video games and watch…
Month: October 2022
Recently, I left a comfortable, remote job for something onsite and better pay. My last job had great benefits and I liked my team, but the work itself was understimulating and I was not thriving any longer after almost two years. I made frequent mistakes, stopped really caring about the job itself, and I craved a physical location to work at. I had it good for the most part though, just was overall unhappy with everything despite the perks. Recently, I took a new job that’s much better pay, more holidays, and better benefits — but I am not sure I want it anymore after reading the employee handbook after being hired. The PTO policy is something I’ve not heard of in past employment — I do not get PTO until after a year. I had an emergency today and had to take the day off, but I will not…
Boss logic…
I got 50+ projects in the pipeline for this year. The guy before me had 10/year. But apparently.. since I can't do my job in the time I got…. that's proof we don't need more people. That was seriously my boss' response “If you can't deliver, how can I claim we need more people”? Welcome to the world where you NOT having time to do your job, means you don't need more people. Also, I'm on sick leave due to stress so…
my job laid me off today after 4 years. before they officially told me (my supervisor warned me last week because he's an actual human being), they sent me a $25 am@zon gift card with the note “Thank you for getting us to where we are today. Good luck!” LMAOOOO GFY EDIT: forgot to say am@zon is the reason i got laid off because they cancelled business with us for Q4 2022 so it’s that much more tasteless
My boss :(
He sucks!
Weekend mood.
