We all kinda work for me.krabs in every job! Cheap ass companies, you have that one kiss ass employee, and the other one who hates his life for obvious reasons, boss men expect you to virtually live at work, give up free time with no pay and will promote you and find a way to cut your pay for it. I wonder if Stephen helenburg took all this into account when he made Me.Krabs

Applying for a job as a technician working in a blood bank, I was asked the question “Can you give us an example of a time you've valued diversity in the work place?” I honestly couldn't even bullshit my way through this one. The whole interview was conducted by two women with clipboards who seemed to have gotten all their questions from a HR guide, and asked no questions about the technical skills actually needed to do the job. Needless to say, the interview did not go well.
The seasonal labor force has no protections, no benefits and doesn't have the time required to organize. Temp jobs with low pay, there on demand and immediately given the axe when they're no longer needed. It's a phenomenon that rips off and exploits seasonal workers and depresses wages and leverage for everyone else. There's an easy way to fight back: don't buy or mail anything during December. Space your gift giving, and purchases for yourself, throughout the year. Encourage everyone you know to do the same. We're smarter and stronger than the people who profit off us, we can do this, we can plan ahead and ration resources. We're good at it, we get lots of practice because we have to to survive.
fuck this. I get to see all my family together like 2 or 3 times a year and my shitty minimum wage job is taking that away from me.
Strung along for a month
I gotta vent this shit. I interviewed for a new office admin position at a local HVAC company. It was $17 an hour with benefits, which is unfortunately the best prospect I’ve had so far in my job search. I killed that interview. I did so well I had them laughing and thanking me multiple times for coming in. They told me they would get back to me in a few days. Next week comes, the HR guy is emailing me explaining that there’s a hold up, but that I am the leading candidate for the job. Basically keeping my interest so that I don’t accept a position at another company. The next week comes. Multiple emails with the same kind of content keeping me interested. It’s been a month. I’m keeping afloat by freelancing. They have emailed me over a dozen times telling me all the same things to…
I hate my job and work.
I hate working and I really hate my job. I wish I could be paid to go tee hee hee all day instead of suffering by performing task I don't want to do!
I have TMJ which puts pressure on my inner ear. I’m getting a factory job through a temp agency. I’m supposed to wear foam ear plugs which are very uncomfortable for me. I don’t know if I should just get ear muffs myself or if I should ask the employer or the temp agency to provide them? They’re more expensive and I’m pretty sure no one’s going to want to get them for me. I know I shouldn’t be but I’m also concerned about it making the company not want to hire me for needing accommodations.
What in the actual fuck with jury duty
This is partly a screed against companies but also the government. I have to start serving jury duty on Monday. No idea if it'll be the one day or months long trial. My bitch is that I have to miss work for this. Work does not, bc legally they don't have to, pay me for the mandatory missed time. And jury duty pays like 10 bucks a day (up to a whopping 40 for extended service!) I got rent and bills to pay, what in the actual fuck?!
