Seriously I live in the middle of buttfuck nowhere so there's very few places to apply to I've applied to almost ten different places and I've all been left on read basically. Zip, nothing. Uncaring cold and indifference. In this day and age with online applications I guess its normal to be rudely left with no response. Thats fucking stupid and I hate it. At least tell me to go fuck myself then at least I know that job is out of the picture. Ugh.

Office Space is the best movie ever
Dear AntiWork, Office Space is the best movie ever…and I mean ever. I have never related more to a movie or felt more attached to one than Office Space and I’ve never worked an office job only retail and fast food. Only problem is that if I quit working I’ll be screwed and have nowhere to go. I really hate how I have to put my job first a lot of times…even over my gf. Do you guys have any advice on what I can do? Thanks, it’s much appreciated. Sincerely, E.J.
I got a job with a small software company about 1.5 years ago and was excited at the beginning. I wanted to learn a lot and progress within the company. My first 9 months were remote work during Covid times, and being a software company this was easy. After this I had to move to the head office (3000km away). This is where things started going downhill. The boss was an obscene micro manager, to the point where if he went away on holidays all other work essentially stopped. Whilst I (along with several other staff members) was expected to turn up to work every day, the other staff worked from home. I have a spinal injury which causes severe chronic pain. This was bought to my bosses attention at the beginning of my employment. Some weeks are manageable but others are so bad I essentially have to remain lying…
No one to relieve me to take a break
I'm curious what this sub's opinion on what you would do if you had to take a mandatory 30 minute break but had no other employee to take over while you took a break? If it sways your opinion, I work at a gym and the only thing in really needed for at the front desk is signing anyone up to use tanning beds or massage chairs, or cancelling/freezing/signing up memberships
How to reply to this email
Below is an email my manager sent to me. I left for vacation before the month started. Even if I was here that day, what does the manager expect? Me to have done it all that day? Also, do you guys this this is poor communication/ aggressive? If yes, I need help clearly identifying exactly how/what isn't okay so I can communicate that to them. I feel like the email starts out okay and ends poorly. Email: Hi (name), Just wanted to see what your game plan is to get these completed. I have talked about the (name) training since it has launched. I sent an email on the 1st about both (other training) and (name) trainings on the 1st of this month, so this should have been made a priority to get done before you had left for vacation. You have 0 of 21 trainings done, and you also…
I had Thanksgiving off and now I have to work this random Friday after. My boss took the day off and so did most of the other higher-ups, but us lower people still have to work. None of my clients are even in today and would probably get annoyed if I tried to contact them about work stuff. So we’re told to use today as a catch up day, even though we’re not behind on anything. And everyone else in my family has today off so I’m the only one who has to work. Ugh.
Yeahhh I’m not doing all that…
Workplace Fuckery Protection ??
I'm starting a new job soon, have learned many a way to save my ass as an employee thanks to this sub. My last job was an anti-work nightmare and after quitting I realized how much compensation I shorted myself by not tracking things I didn't know needed to be tracked. Did you know in Canada you can claim $2/day for every day worked from home? I didn't. I want to go into this new role as prepared as possible. I've started a list of things for me to track/record better this time around. If anyone has anything they think I'm missing here, please let me know. Daily work hours WITH DETAILS like, I started work at 8 but actually had to pack and load gear at 7:45, and that time should be paid for. A journal with what I did that day. The tasks vary daily, and it feels…
