In most workplaces I’ve been in, the business owner or manager is a raving narcissist. That, mixed with aspergers, sociopathic or psychopathic traits.

Yeah why do they always look for this?
Today I worked with a small catering company at a rich house in LA. I got the job through a gigs app that I always work with. It was me and 2 more servers. So I arrived there, started setting up, the lady who lives there tried to help too. She was super nice. Then they asked me to bartend and I accepted. So her family started coming, started making drinks. Just basic things, I was smiling, was talking to them and guess what… Nobody even gave a small tip. Not even a dollar. I didn't let that ruin my mood and then I assisted with bussing and all. All of us were working. At the end of the night we had to move all those big tables again, outside (everything was rental and heavy), we barely got any breaks. So we finished, chef thanked us and we went to…
Got a raise this year!
I’m so thankful for the 2.1% raise I got earlier this year (this was one of the better raises as well). I am salaried and we had a brutal year so everyone was working a ton of OT just about every week. The executives were super busy as well counting their money and looking at record profits. This whole trickle down economics really does work. I just wish I was trickled on more… maybe next year?
I was just applying for a job and was reading through the fine print at the end of the application. At the end of the fine print they link to a bunch of federal regulations that apply to them. None of the links worked but the top link was titled “employee polygraph protection act”, so I googled it. The US government is not a proactive institution so the reason this exists is almost certainly because, at one time, employers were using polygraphs on employes and it was so common and such a problem that the US government had to put a stop to it. It's not even like I have anything to hide but I am so thankful this exists.
I’m done working.
I don't think I'm ever going to work another “job” again. I'm not against working for someone who needs my help or my skills temporarily, but I'm done working for businesses. Thoughts?
Happy holidays!

Work trip splitting sports tickets.
Went on a work trip with a coworker last year in FL and I’m from WI. Was told I could be fired for splitting tickets with coworker. We also split Uber but in terms of cash for whisky. Another apparent reason for termination. This event occurred after hours and did not effect our work. Can anyone explain why I could be terminated or can’t be? Preferably from a legal perspective?
