EI – what’s your method
What’s the best way to ensure you get EI? OP thinks he may get fired within next month timeframe due to upcoming vacation pay. So basically I heard no salting but union doesn’t work that goes to workers comp, termination with reason ROE will void your EI resulting in denial. I heard through the grapevine say if you answered a call where somebody started yelling at you, calling you all sorts of names you could use that for EI? ROE with laid off is ideal, but if not possible to ask HR what is the best way to ensure your EI? Never quit, get fired? Also heard if found employment elsewheres as like you applying for job but didn’t secure? Can someone please give some guidance here how to proceed?
Saw a similar story and decided to share mine. It happened when I was working at my first job. I was 17 then. It was during COVID and during the first months of lockdown. I worked in a school tuckshop, helping to sell snacks and food. So for the months we were in lockdown I still got paid a salary every month, I was surprised as I thought I wouldn't get paid during the lockdown, so when I got paid I made sure to thank my boss. After lockdown there was an event for the teachers and I was asked to help prepare even though it was past my working hours and not the responsibility of the tuck shop. I worked for 4 hours more than my working hours for 2 days. It was a tiring, thankless job. So at the end of the month I noticed I didn't get…
Hey guys! I worked for a small phone company for my first job back in 2013. I worked for them for about a year and than parted ways. This morning I opened my email to a “congratulations on joing the team” type email. This is concerning for me because I work with DoD security clearance and I'm worried of the implications this may cause. I also don't know much about employer fraud, but this seems like a way that a small company could cheat the system to make it appear they have a larger team than they do. Hoping somebody here has some helpful advice or information. Thanks!
I work for a company who provided me with a desktop computer, which means that I cannot easily move. This is a company with a 1000+ employees so they don't really keep track of us individually and I became aware that some of my teammates have been using the Remote Desktop extension to work from different places. However, my computer is not allowing to use the extension as the Windows Remote Desktop feature is turned off and can only be managed by the organization. I don't really care about the repercussions as I'm quitting in a few weeks since they denied the PTO that I requested 3 months ago and I'm just looking to at least enjoy my last weeks here.
All for $5 per hour if I´m lucky.
Maternity Leave, is this illegal?
This was years ago but I just wanna know now that I’ve found reddit. I hope I’m posting in the right place: When I was given my due date it was 3-28, which is what I gave my employer. I went into labor on 3-20, but in the middle of the night so I called on 3-21 and told corporate that I was in labor and needed to start my mat leave early. The man on the phone from HR said that since my due date was 3-28 they couldn’t start my leave and if I didn’t show up the next day I would be fired. I screamed at him about how illegal that was and I’ll be getting a lawyer (which I was in labor during this so I was being very mean.) I think I made him cry, but they did start my leave. After having been on…
I don't want to get too specific here because these people are insane and try to hunt you down if you talk about them online. They threaten to sue, tell you they know the local police, have a lawyer lined up, etc etc. Basically, I know someone who worked at this dog boarding facility/camp and the owners of it are sociopaths. They don't even own dogs themselves and they claim to be experts at training, yet they lose their temper quickly on high energy dogs while they're playing in camp with other dogs. They've been caught on multiple occasions by employees (who soon quit) straight up strangling dogs, slamming them on the ground, punching them, kicking them, hitting them repeatedly for minutes on end, etc. Everyone's too afraid to say anything but they've been reported. Nothing has come of it. They also delete negative comments and have tons of positive…
