As from my previous story about my work (told here), there is an aftermath, that shocked me, and might shock you as well. After situation with my boss, I went on vacation for a week, as this was planned in my schedule. As I came back to work after vacation, hoping to do my job without any troubles, my boss came to me as I finished my shift and told me that I will not get next contract, and my current one ends in about a week from that day. Since I didn't know before any details of my next contract, I have contacted HR, and I was shocked about the info from HR that there was no info from my boss to them about terminating my next contract, as HR knew that my next contract was about to be given to me through my boss. As I am told…
Month: November 2022
So many people, especially boomers, seem so proud about how much they get paid for overworking themselves. Don’t be one of those people. Get paid comfortably. Work to your ability, don’t strain yourself. Have a great day 🙂

Low cost of living in the US
Seems pretty much everywhere is ridiculously expensive. Any lurkers on here live in an area that is decent sized (has a metro, isn’t in BFE, etc…) where the cost of living is doable for the average person? Decent jobs, healthcare, whole 9 yards…
Well that was awkward
So I've been with my current employer for over a year and a half and in my current position for 10 months. Back when I hit my 1 year anniversary the boss called me and I got a raise. Cool he liked my work and it was a decent raise. So the thing about the position i'm in is it was offered to me when they decided to demote the guy who previously had it after he well had a minor breakdown and wrote one of those “How the hell did you not get fired” emails. For the most part he's happy with the switch he likes not working nights anymore and I don't really care. So he was talking to be about how he didn't a raise and he doesn't think anyone else did either. He asked me in the “Can I assume everyone else also isn't getting a…
I come up with the curriculum myself, so I’m not sure what “trade secrets” they are eluding to… I also solely work for art schools (because I teach art…), so how could I obtain employment elsewhere if I agree not to work at an art school for 2 years after my employment with them ends? Is any of this legal?
It was me. I quit a job a few months back after working there for a few years. My buddy who has a good standing there as supervisor, got me the job in the first place. Over the course of that time I experienced countless unsafe practices, no worker rights education, being forced to drive unsafe vehicles and my job was threatened when I told them I could not do a job by myself when that job had already injured me a year prior because I was doing it alone (this is the tip of the iceberg). Oddly enough what drove me out was that I was being overworked when I had signed on for a specific time frame of day. I had never complained about being overworked until I had two 12 hour shifts 7 hours apart. My commute was about an hour both ways. I told them I…

so a bit of background, i just got my first job (i’m 16 in 2 weeks), i got it after attending an unpaid trial shift and after originally not getting hired the manager rang me back and said there was another spot available so ofc i took it. it’s really hard to get hired anywhere without any experience and have been told at multiple interviews i would be perfect for the job if i had more experience. anyways i just checked my schedule on the app that they do the shifts and pay through (it’s call microkeeper if that helps) and i only have two five hour shifts for the whole of december. the last week hasn’t been scheduled but i doubt i’ll get any more shifts. i’m so annoyed, all my friends have good jobs where they work regularly and can actually afford to do stuff. i wasn’t told…
Merry Christmas to me.
This might be a little rambling, but there really isn’t anyone I can talk to without them giving me all sorts of unsolicited advice. Some background: when pandemic hit, my partner got it that first summer and ended up developing a neurological thing and losing the ability to walk. He moved in with me and until this summer, I was working to provide for the both of us. He got a job and we moved for it, which meant I stopped working. I’ve been looking for a job since moving but the phone ain’t ringing. The problem: Things have been really tight lately, and we have no savings at all. My dad called a few days ago to let me know the rest of my family is going to be together for new years. My grandma hasn’t met my nephew yet, she can’t travel since having a stroke a year…
