Long time lurker. Rarely post. I had Covid a couple of weeks ago. When I popped positive I sent my boss the info. I also had a high temp. But for the most part it was a fever and just feeling crappy.
He told me their policy was once I popped positive I need to take 5 days off.
I have never used any sick time so this was new to me. I live in PA and the job is based in the lehigh valley. They have 17000 employees nationwide and over 100 where I work.
My question is this. I never got any sick time. They took my PTO.
When I questioned this they said they stopped paying out and Covid absences in 2022. When I checked the governments website it said they should cover me up to 10 days. ( I was off 4). When I questioned this and sent them the government site he said that was for Philly only and doesn’t apply to us.
Question is is this legit. Seems sketchy.
