I am not the most tech savvy but please tell me if there is a certification/certifications I can take to break into the tech world. I wanna have one of those WFH jobs and just do a few things im good at and be able to pretend work doesn’t exist when I’m off haha. So many of my friends are in tech and they really only work a few hours a day and make so much money I’m tired of busting my ass with these soft skills haha.

As professionals, we all have experienced difficult situations with our bosses at some point in our careers. For me, it feels like my current boss is constantly setting me up for failure by overwhelming me with work and then criticizing me for not completing it all to her satisfaction. Instead of acknowledging and appreciating the work that I am able to complete, she focuses on the tasks that I am unable to finish within an 8-hour workday. It's not just the amount of work that is the issue, but also the way in which she communicates with me. My boss never confirms anything in writing and instead opts for verbal communication, making it impossible for me to have any written proof of our conversations or agreements. This puts me in a vulnerable position, as I am unable to defend myself if ever questioned about my work or performance. It's a…
Fired – I think?
Monday a director fired our whole division and told us not to talk to anyone else in the rest of the company. It will be announced on Friday. Last day next Tuesday. It’s Wednesday and no paperwork yet with layoff information. Sent mail to HR today. No answer yet. All 16 of us are like is this the twilight’s zone??? We are attending meeting with other departments still who don’t know and assigning us projects. Crazy times !!
feeling hopeless and overwhelmed
this is a long read and just a rant. i just needed a place to put it. about 30 minutes ago i asked to leave for the day at my temp. job as i was feeling lightheaded, nauseous, and just overall bad. (this is just a typically production facility) i only started working at this place 2 weeks ago, but haven't been late or called in at all since ive started. i explained the situation to my lead in detail, letting them know i suffer from migraines and wished to go home and rest. i was aware i was probably pushing it as i also asked to leave work an hour early this friday to make a much-needed eye appointment. as soon as i asked to leave because i was unwell, they immediately went into how they, “look very closely at absence and productivity.” and how i was good in…
Is there any statistics on this? Do people lie and say that they love their jobs? Or are most individuals just getting by and trying to have a positive attitude?Genuinely curious.

I got a few people asking to update my previous post (see here). There was agreement that I needed to find a new job STAT. What happened with this sinking ship? My paycheck bounced. I immediately called them and they apologized, said it wouldn't happen again, wired money directly into my bank (no mention of insufficient funds fees or any other compensation for the chaos they called), and blamed it on changes in HR. In the next two weeks, things got even worse. Morale was awful because other people had their checks bounced. A few people quit. Then I got notified from my bank that my next paycheck bounced again. And after a few calls, I wasn't the only one AGAIN. I called the head of HR, chewed out her voicemail, and told them I wasn't coming back. No, not quitting. But I'm not working for free. I got a…
