I work an administrative type job that pays just $10/hr. It’s not ideal, and I’ve been looking for a better place to work for a while now, but I don’t want to jump from one bad job to another bad one out of desperation so I’ve been taking my time making my next move. This company requires that you meet extremely high production quotas that are right near unattainable for even the most skilled workers. Last week, I received a warning from the company that I am to meet a new, even higher production quota by the end of March. This quota is so unfathomably unattainable that I legitimately believe they are trying to get me to it quit. Well, I've just been laid off immediately after signing a lease on an apartment and an entire month of unemployment isn't even going to cover my rent. Like, I have bipolar disorder. There aren't many opportunities that are conducive to managing it. And now I'm probably going to have an episode because this stressful situation is completely fucking me up. Anyway, my point is that it should be illegal to layoff a few people. Reduce the plant's operating hours and make a small sacrifice, too. There's no reason a handful of people should be thrown out in the cold so the company can go through a downtown without suffering like everybody fucking else. Fuck, I hate capitalism.

And its awful. It is spreading. It is aggressive. We are told there is nothing they can do. Immunotherapy is his last hope and they haven't even called. He has an ulcerated tumour on his neck and more are forming. And you're wondering why I posted this in antiwork? Because how are humans supposed to fucking process this shit?? I've never called off for mental health issues despite anxiety tearing me apart most days. My anxiety gets so bad that I can't breathe which makes my pre existing lung condition even harder on me, on the plus side having issues breathing is a valid reason to call off so I'm off work today. I want to quit this job so badly but I can't find a new job close enough to walk to work and I feel like I'm wasting my life here. Will this shit ever end?

i’m currently working at a big coffee chain. (🧜‍️) i’m working on finding a new job but these last couple weeks have been hell. i got written up for leaving because i had a stomach bug and was throwing up and when she was exposing how i had inconsistent attendance, she used my bereavement days against me. today she timed me while i was in the bathroom. i have chrons disease so i use the bathroom a lot and she hates this. i haven’t gotten accommodations because it’s a long progress and they need a doctors note and i don’t have a concrete diagnoses yet. also i’ve just been really depressed so it’s the last thing on my mind. any advice?
