I reported the wrong person and was bullied into putting my two-week notice in today.

Hi, thought I would share my horrific experience that's still on but soon to end. If you've experienced something similar to this you're not alone, there are better employers out there We just got to find them. I've had a ton of concerns with this company from obvious favoritism to legal concerns. I have tried to resolve these and been very patient but tonight was the end of it, I was not dealing with my boss, HR or legal anymore, I was going straight to the CEO to see if I can get some answers. This company has been pretty toxic during my entire employment. I have shown over and over again that peer to peer coaching will heavily affect morale on top of bring ethics and legal concerns if it goes wrong. I had made a few HR reports about hostility in the company. A very notable case that…

So are you guys just all communists or what?

I’ve looked through this sub as an outsider and it seems like you guys either just want to not work. The question I usually ask people who complain about communism and America is “what’s a better system?” Capitalism has created so many things. We wouldn’t have Amazon, we wouldn’t have Disney, you wouldn’t be typing on your phone right now. The problem with communism is not only that it’s a nonfunctional system but it ends creativity and invention because it’s impossible to find enough money as an individual to do something creative such as writinh a book or start a company. Just think about how comvenient chain stores and Amazon are and how convenient the fuckjng internet is. None of this happens in communism. All that happens is we work and work and work for the benefit of nobody until you get your 2 kilometer thick slice of bread and…

I was forced to pay for a customer that didn’t pay at my retail job

Like it says, a customer came in, and refused to pay for the small service he requested. The company owners not only berated me about my performance lately, but told me I stole from the company(by giving the service), and forced me to pay an even larger amount to them. Does anyone have some recommendations on legal action? I feel utterly humiliated and would like to do what I can to stand up for myself.

True story of my daily life

My job that ive been stuck at for 5 years now, in a nutshell: Spend 10 to 12 hours per day outside under the scorching heat, or in the freezing cold. The whole day im forced to dig holes, lift heavy blocks, dig trenches, carry heavy rocks or dirt in a wheelbarrow, etc. During the 12 hour work day, we are only allowed to sit down for 20-30 minutes to swallow our lunch and get right back to hard labor before the food even reaches our stomachs. When you get tired and start to slow down a bit, the micromanaging boss starts to yell at you to pick up the pace, or you will be replaced. No long hair allowed, no facial hair, basically no form if self expression allowed. Somehow i had managed to save up around $20k by 2021, and i lost it all in a desperate attempt…

Expected to be 15 minutes early, but not allowed to clock in?

This is a question from a previous job as a hotel housekeeper. It's not my present job anymore, but I was wondering if this was illegal or not, as I was thinking about this even long after quitting. My employer expected all housekeepers to be 15 minutes early each morning and weren't allowed to clock in until 9:00 am. That was because they told us they had a meeting every morning in the laundry room that we would miss otherwise and that the clean sheets were first come, first serve, so if we arrived late, not to complain if we got there and had to wait on sheets to be cleaned. Sometimes, I would wait all day and still not have sheets at the end of each shift because the laundry room was so slow. Regardless, is it wrong for a company to do this? Is this common practice in…
