Pressure to go above and beyond
In my 1:1 meetings, my manager keeps telling me I need to pitch the client more projects. I just want to do the bare minimum. I used to work overtime everyday when I first got the job but now I sign off at 6 on the dot. I hate the constant pressure to go above and beyond
We may be poor, but holy shit, we don't want our lives to revolve around work. Especially if we hate our boss. Which we do, a lot. We still have things we need to take care of on our off day. I just don't understand how these people think. They take their 2 days off and even have days where they go home early. Also, why am I broke despite working 50 hour weeks for you?

Because it seems like you’re rewarded more for doing the bare minimum. It kills me because i’m the type of person to just show up and do what’s asked of me/what needs to be done and i’m constantly cleaning up everyone else’s shit that doesn’t even do the absolute bare minimum. To be fair, I’m talking mostly lower level retail jobs but regardless of the company or whatever it doesn’t take long at all before I get taken advantage of for being that type of person. I try to detach myself from the work to try not to care as much about it but then I seem to just be more miserable because i’m already aware there isn’t much room for growth and then I just find myself pissed off for being there at all A step forward I can see is finishing my degree but I constantly see people…
Recently one of my colleagues lost their mom to cancer. When she reported the date and time of the funeral to our supervisor (get ready for this bullshit) her response was, “So you’ll come in before and then be back around 2?” Edit: Her job is to answer the phones for our office.
