Overwork in big corporate
I graduated from a top architecture college last year and got placed as a trainee in a big corporate construction company. I left my job to find out that its a 12h/day job sometime extending upto 15,16h. The pay is good for a graduate (INR 40k/mo) But anyways i hope i will learn something from here which could help my career in future, But only to find out myself doing some shitty excel jobs and coordination. And the pressure is also too high on me. Im really feeling like shit coz I was in the top 5 in my college and find myself in this shit situation. The worst part is not having any personal time after work Its been 7months here and I’m thinking to stay at-least an year, so that my resume will have some experience. Should I leave or stay for 4 more months??
Some bosses are truly prices of shit
So I work in the trades. My former boss and I worked a deal where I could build my new kitchen cabinets in the shop. Well I was about done and he asked if I was tracking materials. Gave him the list and he gave me the total 2 hrs later. 2 days later I get the roto virus and miss one day come back and the shops Forman says he has nothing for me to do because he’s been focusing on a specific task. So worked two days that week. Monday comes I show up to work and as I’m getting my stuff out of my truck the owner needs to have “a talk”. Not working out blah blah not personal. Like bro, you just waited to make sure my $3200 check would clear, short me 2 days and fire me? Wtf is wrong with employers?! Let me earn…
advice in the WFH job market
My husband is agoraphobiac and if it were up to me I'd never ask him to work another day in his life, but in the world we live in we've learned that this is not a viable life. I see people talking about WFH for awhile now and we've searched for work like that, but most of the postings are scams or require degrees (which he doesn't have) We got him set up with a employment specialist through a local hospital and the call today wasn't super encouraging… she basically said she's at a standstill after putting in a small handful of applications and told him even though he doesn't prefer it he might need to think about what he could do outside the house… The problem is its not preference, we both know that holding an outside job isn't possible, and even WFH is sketchy due to his panic…
The Raise.
So I am recently unemployed and just applied for several positions here that I know I am qualified for today. How long should I give them before moving on or getting in touch with them? Or should I get in touch with them at all after a certain time period has passed? Thanks!!

Hi, I was interviewing with a big 4 company for an internal strategy role as a senior manager. The interview process started in Nov of 2022 and dragged to a final round in January. When they came back with an offer, they downgraded it to a manager position. Then after some back and forth on clarifications and follow ups they landed with “ok we will check internally on the package and provide a verbal offer”. Then they sent an email saying we will not extend and offer. Reasons were they found an internal candidate and I appeared to be dragging my feet. It’s a employers market right now and they are not afraid to leverage to their advantage. Hcol 14 yes experience strategy and operations Meets all jobs requirements Process.
