My company has retracted WFH options recently, and my commute this morning was 11.9 miles in 51:22. I think I'll bill that hour. I also think I won't be getting much done today besides looking for a different job.
Month: February 2023
Back in July 2022, my husband tested positive for Covid on a Sunday. I immediately texted my boss that day and said he was sick and I was exposed. I asked what the protocol was (she refused to tell me when I started). She told me to stay home that week and continue to test. I tested and was getting very sick (this was my first bout with Covid so I had no clue what I was in for). On Wednesday I was dying. Tested positive on at-home test. And I drove to the local pharmacy for a legit PCR test (I shouldn’t have drove. I was in bad shape). I got the results Friday morning. Positive. I texted my boss. She said “what are you going to do?” I told her what the Dept of Health told me. My 5 days would be up Monday but preferably to stay…

you do not know what you are doing and then leave behind the stuff you don’t know how to do for me to come back and have to do it anyways! You didn’t free me of work! I spent time going back and forth with your questions!!!
I found out my manager has been lying to the non profit clients about the SLA numbers and “rounding” up on billing. For example, if a task took 1 minute to complete, she rounded up and billed for 15 minutes. Obviously this creates a huge discrepancy between the actual time spent on tasks and the time that was billed. In my opinion it’s stealing from the clients. Is there somewhere that I can report this information? The dept head and accounting manager are aware of the situation. Someone did the billing correctly when she was out and they were struggling to figure out what to do about it as the clients would obviously know something was wrong (it was a big difference between what was billed the month prior). Their solution was to use info from last month to add onto the billing so it wouldn’t seem like such a…
What do you think of a “shadow shift”?
Basically title. Place I applied to told me that they needed me to shadow a shift to make sure I wanted this position. If I still wanted the job after the shift, they would schedule an interview. I confirmed that I would only be observing, and not working during this time. So, what do you think about this unusual requirement? I've never had to do a shadow shift before an interview.
2024 George Carlin for president! RIP
I'm done voting for the left or right. I wish this man was alive and willing to take the job. George Carlin, the legendary.
Labor day would be a great day to start it. It's already a long weekend, what if we just made it a long double weekend? I personally need to know that people are behind this movement. I think seeing half the country take a week off of our own accord would not only shock the deniers who feel wage slavery is not a problem, I think it would strengthen the resolve of those already in the fight and those who haven't stepped up yet! Really, I just want to do something.
