My fault or the manager’s fault?
At my job, I’m suppose to do the “online portion” for learning the job, but instead, they wanted me to get the real world learning experience by working directly with my coworkers. Makes sense and did what I was told. Next month is my last month, so I assume I have time since they’re not pressuring me. Even my coworker said that this is typical and he did his training even after the 3 month period. Suddenly, we have a regional auditor coming before the last day of my 3 month training period and my Manager comes up to me panicking to tell me to get it done asap with the date of the auditor. I’ve been working by myself because one of my coworker became hospitalized, one went on vacation, one is filling in for the night role, and it just leaves 2 or 3 people working this job.…
Yet, he is flying first-class every month for “business meetings”, despite indulging in extravagant drinks and hotels on his social media. What's even more absurd is that none of his employees, including myself, can afford to travel anywhere, let alone leave the country for a vacation. And let's not even get started on his plans to buy another house… The level of hypocrisy is astonishing.
I got a job at chili's while job hunting, you know the billion dollar restaurant chain that could easily supply a few shirts. I'm expected to pay $3 for the schedule app and $5 for shirts other than the freebie i got. So i have one shirt for a week and i use the shitty website instead of the app. This is a temporary job until i can find a decent one. On another topic I'd love if tipping culture died. My wage is $2.15 an hour so my life depends on tips. It should be illegal to pay under minimum wage no matter the circumstances.
the Guru Speaks.
Remember kids, regardless of how much you think your employer cares about you, they fucking don’t.
I mean either covering time, AT THE VERY LEAST, or still paying? Anything? It’s extremely infuriating how so many companies no longer treat COVID as they should but yet “just come to work with a mask”. Disgusting, greedy, sad. So I wonder if there’s ANYONE who has a job that’s still doing maybe anything?
There have been some posts here that go along the lines of “how do you people in America live?” or “why don't you just unionize?” Nothing new, not necessarily more prevalent now than in the past, but I've just seen a few recently that put this issue on my mind. If someone from America, or anywhere without socialized health care or strong labor laws, is on this sub, they are likely very aware of the many structural issues most people in their country live under that keep them from living as comfortably as those in some other countries. You will not find an American here who isn't longing for socialized healthcare so they can be free of the oppressive expense it burdens them with, or just their lack of care at all. You will not find anyone in here who doesn't want to be in a union if they must…
I don't have kids or a relative/parent to care for when they're sick. How would you spend your accrued 6-8 days of sick leave a year if you rarely get sick?
