So in Colorado, you can get fired for any reason. Then, when you go for unemployment. You can get denied for any reason as well. Fired because the department was liquidated. Denied because he was told twice he was doing a bad job and never improved, something that never happened. This was a friend I know. If anyone has advice, let me know!

Why is the office culture so toxic?!!!!
I currently have nausea and a bad headache. I can’t physically go into work but I can work from home but my work don’t understand that and have been not happy and think I’m just lying when I’m not! I haven’t been able to go into the office for the past few days but I get all my work done and I do the job! However, my colleagues can be so passive about it since they never wfh and just think I’m not working hard enough. Why is the office culture so unforgiving whenever you need time off? In this case, I haven’t even taken time off because I’m still working while sick due to being overworked!
We had some big storms near where I live this past weekend, tons of trees fell. I happen to be in front of one that blocked the entire street, it was a site to see. This really nice guy runs up and starts taking photos, to which I say “insane, right!?” And he says and smiles “I know , really crazy. Taking pictures for my boss to show her why I’m late 10 minutes today” … then he sprints back to his car. Not sure that he was even aware of how sad and toxic that is. Completely ruined my day.
In May, we received an email from an employee no longer here, that we will be paid for holidays and to add them to our timesheets. We did and all timesheets were approved by manager and payroll. It is now nearly March of the following year that we were not supposed to get paid those holidays and we have to pay it back. I THINK THE FUCK NOT. They’re now saying that the original approval was too grey and interpreted incorrectly. Now, you’re going to start deducting a day’s pay every paycheck until you get your money back for not writing a policy correctly? I’m a college student, this is my rent and tuition you’re messing with. Hate that the law protects the employer in this when it’s literally their fault.
