The title pretty much explains it. I was owe approximately $200 (before tax) for my final check however, $19.02 was direct deposited. I am not sure what they're claiming I work as I won't receive my paystubs until sometime later this week. I am paid per $50 per visit and I was owe for 4 visits. Where can I report these crooks? And where can I find more information on Michigan laws pertaining to this? Thanks

At the vast majority of the jobs that I've worked, I truly couldn't understand what my managers do. They have a team of people working under them that are doing all the work, right? So what do they do? Make PowerPoints, schedule meetings with other managers or their bosses to report on those results or discuss initiatives. But 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year of this? No way. Absolutely no way. I've also seen managers share their screen, and they have like 12,000 emails in their inbox that are unread. They must be simply leaving them in their inbox and not marking anything as red to make it look like they are so overwhelmed, or they have so much going on. That must be part of the scam that they are running. Because if they have so many people working under them, doing literally everything for them and…
and so they say…
these just feel like taunts.

If you HAD to go into work (as in, fully remote is not an option): What would make an office space or park worth commuting for? If you could design the ideal setup what would it be like? Is it a better office aesthetic to be more comfortable or do you care more about amenities, dog friendly policies, etc? I’m genuinely curious what would make a work environment better — there’s obviously a lot of room for improvement in the corporate world for so many reasons. For those of you who left a corporate environment — what was the final straw? I think you all in this sub will have particularly enlightening feedback on what works and what doesn’t work. Thanks for your comments in advance.
Business Owners?
I’m just curious how many business owners are in here? I don’t mean managers or executives. I mean you own all or a managing portion of a company. And what are your thoughts on the variety of opinions and experiences on this page?
All I wanted to do was be an artist
Although I was applauded by the school system, it was most likely that they saw my parents' neglect of my education and learning. Managed to make it to art college but slowly burnt up from harassment and threat texts from parents. I have a job in the arts now, I work 4/10s, I'm set up to take over for the person that runs the section I work for… I'm just so disheartened that my parents decided to constantly rip me down for having “unrealistic” goals. But here I am in a spot where I am to take over a position in a well-to-do business. I still want to be a painter and sculptor. I was thinking I could go down to the inner city and just do one-off portraits to see if there is anything outside of the 40-hour week grind. I don't believe in being of service only to…
I was the manager of a network engineering team for a medium/large sized for 20 years and was terminated in 2019. We had various passwords for routers depending on line of business the routers belonged to. My team had the administrative passwords stored in a secure, electronic password vault. Fast forward to last week when something got into the routers and locked everyone out, now they need the admin passwords but apparently the vault was taken offline and removed two years ago. Apparently half their business is at a standstill and they can’t make payroll until this is fixed. They called me demanding the passwords and when I couldn’t produce them, they the wanted to sue me. What a bunch of assholes. First they fired me they want to sue me 4 years later. Laughable. Only in America.
