BULLLL SHIIIT
Today was a delightful treat. I got a notification on social media with a new dm. Pop it open. It was a manager from a job I had 16 years ago. I recognized the name. It was a short paragraph. 'Hey, how's it going? Hope you're well' etc etc. It got to the point pretty quickly. Imagine my surprise when they asked me if I would be interested in coming back to work for them again since I had been 'so good' in that role when I had first worked there. Ya'll. 16 years ago. 16 years It was a fast food restaurant from my hometown that I worked at during high school. They asked me to come back and work cashier as a fast food worker. I'm 30+ years old, my guy. I literally run my own crew in my own department. I could demote myself to the base…
i’ve consistently been working three 5-1 shifts and two 2-10 shifts every week in the customer service desk. I’ve wanted to be off sunday for a very long time and finally requested again to change my availability after asking many times if it’s possible, i sent the scheduling manager an email to confirm this is doable while still staying in the customer service department which i much much prefer over grocery. She never responded to my email and after reiterating to her in person that i would simply like to switch my off day to sunday but keep working in the department i’m most comfortable with she kind of brushed it off, (BUT she mentioned they need people in my department so i’m confused as to why the hell she would do this). Fast forward the newest schedule is out and my hours are completely different and i am stocking/front…
Thanks, this is great
Manager told me to get motivated.
I work in manufacturing for a very small company and I am helping them get ISO 9000 certified by developing a calibration program for the test instruments we use in house. I am developing work instructions to calibrate a piece of equipment I don't work on, and I sent the draft to my boss and of course the instructions had some holes in it because I am not normally involved with this piece of equipment. He did the boomer thing of getting frustrated at me because I had the audacity of not knowing something, and obviously I should have known even though I don't use the equipment. So I got frustrated back and said I think my coworker should do these work instructions because he actually uses the equipment. Manager told me “come on dude get motivated.” Bruh I can barely pay my bills. We get paid monthly and I…
If I learned anything from this sub, it is to tell my administration certain things, not ask. Earlier this week it was pouring rain and 40mph gusts on my 10 minute walk to work. My umbrella had a engineering failure halfway and my jeans were drenched. The student uniforms include sweat pants so I borrowed a pair for the day. This is my text: “I was drenched during my walk to work. I am wearing a pair of uniform sweatpants and will change back to my jeans when they finish drying. Thanks for understanding!” I may have to start making rainy days special occasions by ditching the umbrella so I can wear sweats.
