So last Friday, I took a vacation day that was approved a month ago. The mobile app we use for clocking in, out, etc said I had accrued 20hr of vacation time. The following week I was contacted by HR and they said I did not have any vacation time, and it would be used as a sick day. The app still says I have 20 hrs accrued…. What to do? For context I am a ~6 month intern at this company and been working for 2 months.
Month: March 2023
For context: my friend just got a full time job which he was happy about until they pulled the bait-and-switch and had him working 10-12 hour days with only 2 days off a week. He asked his boss if he was entitled to overtime and this man had the nerve to say he only gives it to people who he thinks 'aren't abusing it'. Okay… huh? Is this even legal? The state we live in says any hour over 40 qualifies for either time off or 1.5 in pay per hour and he's doing at least 50 a week.
For reference I'm applying for environmental education jobs and the like, I have seen this happen more than three times with different agencies and positions. If they havent found someone yet why do they ghost me?
My answers would differ from his..
Side hustles and online jobs are a joke.
Maybe it's the fact that I am not from America and it's harder to get jobs but it's a joke. Most side hustle are just full time jobs that you have to cram into the free time you have and the online ones that everyone claims are so easy, do anytime and easy money are a joke. Transcription jobs are impossible, those micro task jobs pay maybe a dollar for all your personal information and the ones that arent about personal information come with the longest, most convoluted instructions and pay a couple cents for tasks that take you an hour. Try getting a legit side hustle from customer service jobs and they want to low ball you. I am getting so frustrated trying to get by. I also just want to laugh at the fact that a job I applied to recently banned part time jobs (without permission) and…
Every single time London or Paris or Iran or Hong Kong riot for systemic change Americans LOVE it! It's cheers and FB flags and love! Every time America riots for systemic change it's hatred and “we need more cops!” “Get a job!” “This won't change anything!” Americans are the most propagandized nation on earth some time I swear.
So for the last few days I didn’t have anything to do. This is actually a regular thing and happens almost every week. I got tired of suggesting she let me help with something, so I don’t even ask anymore. We stay in the same room and my computer is turned to her side so she can see what I’m doing. But I don’t have anything to do. There are about other 30 people who work in the same place and they don’t know I don’t have anything to do. Since I dont have tasks I walk a lot, other people get mad. Yesterday my boss finally messaged me apologizing for not giving me anything to do, and saying she will try to not let it happen again. I’m gonna save this message everywhere that I can because now I have the actual proof that I wasn’t doing anything BECAUSE…
