It’s not like I’ll ever afford shit in he USA. I can speak Spanish and Mexicans are better than the people of the USA. More friendly and warm. I’m considering just buying all the shit I need and leaving. New phone, new everything. Never coming back to the USA. Ever again.

I am a 31-year-old man working at a workplace where I was promised a management position, this company is quite small where there are several pensioners who have run the company before it was acquired and taken over by a new operation. The job involved something I have worked on continuously for almost 8 years. In connection with the acquisition of this company, I asked the boss if there were any people of the same age in connection with this project to build up and run the company in a different way. I was then informed that another person (10 years younger than me) would also be “helping”. One of the things that society always tries to sell us is that we have to find our dream job, but gradually I have realized that I don't really have a passion for anything specific. At the moment, I work in digital marketing and I must say that, although it is a well-paying profession, it doesn't really spark a genuine interest in me. The only thing I think about when I learn any other skill related to this niche is how much money I can make from it. I don’t know where else to ask this feel free to direct me elsewhere. I got fired today from my job at a law firm and my boss gave me a separation agreement offering to pay me through my next paycheck, which would be may 5th under the condition if I sign it I can’t file for unemployment. I worked in Illinois for a small law firm, 15 people max work there. I don’t see anything in the separation agreement explicitly saying anything about the unemployment, only things like I won’t sue my boss and of course because it’s a law firm confidentiality for stuff pertaining to clients and what not. My friend said I can’t be told not to take unemployment is this normal? If I file for unemployment will my boss be notified? He said he would write me a letter of recommendation [he told me it wasn’t…
