TL;DR IN BOLD I put coworkers because trust me I've met a lot of assholes in my years of working. I put them there because some of the companies have not done anything and one even told me “stand up for yourself or I'm not your freaking babysitter!”. That last one was when I was younger working for a small company. I tried to complain by the way about that small company to the Department of Labor and I called a few others too. But since that company had less than 15 employees I could not do anything. I'm in Utah which has that stupid Utah discrimination law. Not sure where you're at. Just FYI. I really despise asshole coworkers or bosses. They make your job harder than it should be and add unneeded stress to it. All the other good people working just want to have a good…

I’m in a tough situation
So I'm an office manager working in construction. I am assigned to work different jobs around the state, but work out of the main office. There are 3 floors in the building, 3rd floor is for execs, rest of us on the 2nd. Shit started hitting the fan when they turned up the heat to the point where we would be sweating sitting in our cubicles. The way the building is designed, makes it so that place is heated/cooled uniformly. The 3rd floor have windows in their offices, we are in cubicles. I've been complaining about the heat for about 6 months now, they refuse to lower it, they say the 3rd floor is cold and we just have to deal with it. Everyone on the 3rd floor is in the latter stages of their careers (if you get what I mean) so I can understand that they can get…
The anti-remote work campaign is real
I’m so tired of job postings…
Seriously, what is wrong with some people? Asking for 3 or even 5+ years of experience for an entry-level job? and the requirements is a huge list of random stuff that probably even the senior working at the company can't do, and after you apply for the job they ask you to do the dumbest questions about your personality. But hey, I guess I am a ENFJ!
I can’t handle it anymore
Our company going through layoffs announcement today. Same old song and dance about “postpone your PTO and help your colleagues in need” and “we need all hands on deck” and all positions will need to be reevaluate for redundancy. Media sitting over here talking about how it's not 2008 again which is total crock and the SVB CEO getting handouts. Whirlwind of emotion today and I just literally feel like garbage at the start of the week.
So I've been with the company I'm at for going on 7 years. In that time, there has been a coworker that has quit once, came back begging for a job, transferred out when he had a disagreement with the supervisor, then had a disagreement with his new supervisor and quit. He was brought back last year because we were in desperate need of help and he already knew the job, would require minimal training, etc. He was a pain in the ass. Only wanted to work on his terms, at his speed, with everyone else having to pick up his slack because he refused to move faster. He got laid off Friday before last (Good Friday) because the company as a whole is making some cuts and he was the most expendable in our department. He's only been laid off a week, someone from another department is transferring out…
“Have a good day at work!”
Is that even possible? Lol. It'll be tolerable at best, not good.
And she paused 3rd rant as she started as I must have let slip a big “dude wtf” type expression to ask me “what is wrong with you today???” Ama
