Gotta stop staying out with these people
This has been a recent conversation I've been having because my work just gave out their annual pay increases, and it was less than the rate of inflation. When I expressed that I wasn't thrilled about that and that it means things will be tighter and doesn't really feel like a “raise” I got annoyed responses telling me that it isn't the company's job to match inflation and they don't try to etc. But you know what did go up with inflation? The rates we charge clients. I mentioned my frustrations to a friend who doesn't work at the same company (she works at another large company), and she looked at me like I was crazy. She said her work only gives 2% raises IF they're lucky and I should be very thankful for my raise. But at the end of the day, I can't help but think it's BS.…
The Transition
I've been a cook at this one restaurant for 3 months now; already I've seen a coworker who just worked here for a month. She is a trans woman who her first couple shifts really dressed up with hair, make up, etcetera. Not what I'm attracted to but I still appreciated the effort and she looked great. Not just that, she was always working, always happy to help and always had a great attitude. Her last shift before she quit: dirty sweats and hair in a pony tail. 'Girl, same…' I thought to myself when I saw the outfit. I really hope I didn't add to any of the production anxiety and craziness that made decide the work was not worth the money. I don't think I did but as a coworker and not a boss my influence is mostly non existent.
Hi all I (33F) work as a senior admin role and currently supporting a project. My colleague (mid to late 50sM) works on this project and has shown quite a liking to me but I am finding it slightly uncomfortable and unsure if it's crossing the boundaries or I am imaging things. We've been working together in a team of 6 for about 5 months and there has been a few incidents I thought were questionable. Increase on queries only to me that's easily solved if he took more initiative or ask other members of the team. Made a weird comment I thought was off because we don't know each other that long and not established that kind working relationship. E.g he asked if I was going to spank him for doing x.y.z when he asked for my support. I retorted back saying no that's not my job(shutting that comment…
I am supposed to work Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday to the next Wednesday I have PTO and have booked a vacation to see my mothers side of the family. This weekend, I had an emergency with my dads side of the family and I have to miss work Monday and Tuesday to be there with the family. But then I still am planning to go on this planned vacation. That would mean I’m out of work for a week and a half. Is that okay or will I be expected to change plans?
