Didn’t continue with a sales job that I had because it was kind of bad timing to try a straight commission sales job, great potential there but I’d rather try that when I have my own place and bills already paid. But currently about to start my job hunt so I can move out soon but these jobs are all MID. Like you hop on indeed or whatever app/website and the jobs are kind of whack. Like the U.S has really come down to this, super low pay in exchange for most of your time. Honestly you need like near $20 an hour to even do anything with. The fact that there’s still full time jobs that are $12-$14 is wild. Even $15, $16 is low I feel. There’s literally grown people with families and kids making that much. I don’t want to go back into the matrix but I…
Just really tired
I work for a non profit coffee place that only pays 12-14 for the managers, who quite literally do payroll, scheduling, and the making of all the coffee. I get asked to come into work outside of my availability every single weak multiple times by managers. There’s no order and nobody’s time is ever respected so many people are leaving. It’s a non profit church organization that is most definitely well off considering we sell our coffee to every other church in the area, plus we sell it out of state and I have seen this church install 300,000$ LED walls. We do not get paid overtime despite being asked to work it constantly, new employees are not given training and have to be taught by us keeping us later when we close, and the church takes all the tips from the tip jar. I myself believe in church but…
Application processes
I am currently looking for a second job so I can finally feed myself and pay rent but I am getting so frustrated with the application processes! First of all, why in the world do I have to sit here and type out everything in a “formal” application when all of the information you have requested is in the professional resume that I have already uploaded to your platform!? Second, what is the point of asking “why do you want to work for X company?” At the end of the day my answer is going to be rather disingenuous because the fact of the matter is, I don't want to work for you but I'm tired of starving to death. Third, you're looking for help, right? I'm willing to work, right? Then why can't you at least call me or send an email/text? I've been ghosted enough in my life.…
There’s a whole world of possibilities
Biggest waste of my time
Just got out of an interview with a grocery retailer that begins with the letter A. Sounded okay other than the pay being lower than what was posted online (what a shocker) but I thought I could maybe haggle back up with my experience. Then at the interview the manager hits me with the “we actually aren't hiring” … WHAT?! Then why have me and like 5 other people come out for an interview??? They want to see if they're missing that STAR EMPLOYEE. Thank you for wasting my time and gas to drive out here for this.
