most definitely it’s my attitude. i’m on my second job now. both jobs i have been on for less than a year. got placed on Performance Improvement Plan both times. i don’t think it has anything to do with my competence or skills. i have a colleague who made the same mistakes as i did. but somehow she’s more approachable and ask around a lot whenever issues arise so it doesn’t matter if she makes mistakes. she gets confirmed after probation whereas i didn’t. i feel demotivated because i feel like managers just don’t personally like me and has less to do with the work that i deliver. i am shy and quiet and like to keep to myself. i don’t have the attitude and mindset of growth. maybe i am just not meant to work.

The management trap
Unpaid overtime is garbage that should not be allowed even if you are salaried. Companies lure you in and then pay you 50% of what they promised by making you work 80 hours a week all while gaslighting you when you complain and making you feel like you're a bad person if you're not 100% at your best, while giving them your whole life. There is no point to this. We are living to work and getting ripped off. Laws in NA need to change to put a legal cap on overtime, and unpaid overtime should not exist.
I’m posting this on behalf of my fiancé, he works in IT doing service desk, so basically taking calls and helping people with tech issues. He got this job as fully remote from the start 1.5 years ago, aside from a few days of on site training when he started. There’s been a lot of management changes recently and with those changes top management wants all of his team to come into the office to “help team communication and more learning opportunities”. Now the main issue here is that our transportation situation has changed. We’re currently only have 1 car, which I use to commute 3 days out of 5 as I work a hybrid schedule. When we decided to go down to 1 car he knew he’d be ok since his job was remote, but that’s now up in the air. Second, even if we had a second car…
