Had a zoom meeting yesterday, and the boss suggested that going forward, we stop or drastically shorten our breaks so that we’re able to get more done. I’ve worked at this company only 3 weeks now and unfortunately, it doesn’t at all surprise me that she said that. I’m pissed, but as we’re given way too big of a workload that we have to finish before we’re allowed to clock out for the day, it’s often either work through your break, or stay an hour late. Some other lovely things this god-awful woman has said/done in my three short weeks of being with this company: -My first day on the job, my login for an account wasn’t working, which the person training me said would happen and that I just had to email IT so that they could finish setting up my account. Easy fix that was sorted out within…

Doctors note emergency
I need a doctors note or I'm fired I've been working at this company for 5 years without a break. I got stomach flu, and I didn't go to a doctor because I have no health insurance. I just drank fluids and blah blah. Point is, I decided to draw out how sick I was for two extra days so I could get some things done. Because I've never taken off in my life, I didnt know that after missing 3 days you need a doctors note to return. Ive missed almost a week now and never went to a doctor, and I was just informed about needing a note. What can I do to get a note? Would a doctor even write on the note that I needed that whole week off?
Wage clickbait
I made it out of the trenches.
Coming from working shit jobs paying 10-12/hr in Mississippi my entire life, I’m set to start a job which pays 40k+commission/PTO/401k and gives yearly raises, this Monday. I don’t have experience, I don’t have my degree yet, I got extremely lucky. So long, struggle bus. It’s been almost too real.
Unlike the many people who are getting laid off at the moment, my job is steady and I have an excellent relationship with my employer. I'm also the only person at the company in my role, but my job is not unique and I can easily be replaced just takes time. I have some tenure here but the work itself is getting boring, not challenging, I'm doing more administration than the job I was hired to do, and there's a lack of career growth opportunities. Salary is solid., but I don't think I will be able to find a comparable salary given my tenure here and the way companies are hiring for my role at the moment. I'd like to leave on good terms with the opportunity to take 6 months off, collect unemployment in CA, and potentially work with them as a Contractor or even return as a FTE…
