Hi guys, first time posting here. I just want some outside opinion on my recent problem. So I got laid off 2 weeks ago and I’m one of the 3 that got laid off from the company. Long story short, during my final day, they just asked me to meet them in the office conference room and told me that they’re laying me off effective immediately due to economic downturn. So, I went back to my desk, pack my shit and leave because I was mad. The next day, I emailed them asking on when I can expect my final paycheck since the pay system are paid every 2 weeks and they have not given me my last paycheck. As far as I understand, in the state of Texas, employee is required to pay the person that got laid off of a maximum of 6 days. It’s been 2 weeks…

It’s so funny because this guy is late almost everyday. Last week I showed up 30 minutes late because I left my ID & Badge at home but in no way do I have a problem with constant lateness. Other than that I’m almost always on time, especially since my job has a 10 minute grace period before you’re considered late. So what the hell? If there’s a problem you don’t have to threaten job to make a point This guy is playing with fire🤷‍️

So I was offered a job yesterday. I called them back and they offered me an amount that after taxes comes out to $30,672 a year. my rent at that pay would be 46.95% of my take home pay. And somehow I'm supposed to be happy and excited to take this “great job opportunity”.

I'm 28 years old I'm the youngest at my Job when I complain about being tired they all say “what have you got to be tired about you're too young to be tired ” and seem irritated and annoyed by it .they're the same people to complain about being tired all the time but because I'm “young” (not that young as I'm 28) I can't be tired when we do the exact same job. i did snap at one of them today telling them their comment is foolish, but everyone else agreed i shouldn't be tired as I'm young.This has really annoyed me because regardless of age everyone gets tired. I am also anemic so I do get quite tired. I just went to a national corporate meeting for a pharmaceutical company. It was about a week long and all they did was force us to sit in big meeting rooms while the ceo, cfo and other employees from headquarters went on and on from 7am-5pm about how great the drugs are and how much money were all making. It’s all old white people for the most part who make corny jokes, and are greedy, money hungry Karen’s. Just your typical corporate worker that you’d picture in any office. It was such a waste of time, money and resources. It was miserable. Then they lectured everyone that there were no excuses and we should always be exceeding goals (they raise the goal every quarter, lol) and that they track our metric and we need to be more “productive.” Meanwhile they have driven the company into the ground by overspending and…

Of the few jobs that offer benefits in my industry, it’s almost always after 1 year of employment. Why is this legal? Like fuck me if I have ongoing health issues, I guess, let me just tell my body to suck it up and git good for a year until my boss so graciously decides to let me go to the doctor.

I got one share of stock so they let me vote in the shareholder meeting.
