In the world of antiwork – how does everyone feel about the growing cohort of OE people who are getting hired for 2 or 3 full time wfh jobs simultaneously? These are all jobs that are in the higher pay range (75k plus) and individuals are making 250k + in salary while taking jobs off the market?

Just upset and want to rant.
Talked with my employers at a greenhouse company that I was moving and looking for another job closer to that area. Then gave them a proper two weeks notice which mentioned I needed today off to move some furniture to my new place. Today is Sunday and is the least busy day so I thought that would be a good day to be off for that reason. Even though I had this through message to my boss and I’m a written letter, he called me today wondering where I was. I then mentioned that I was moving furniture and that this was mentioned in both my physical resignation letter and through text message. He told me just to not come back. So even though I have another job lined up, that leaves me with two weeks without a paycheck. It was a small business so there is no such thing…
Okay, so my company has pay for performance on an “aggregate”, meaning on average my co-workers will get a certain percentage. The aggregate is informed by the “median market rate of labour” in my industry. The kicker is this: if you are at or above the median, your wage increases are throttled down, while those who are below get larger increases, even if two workers performed equally well. Normally new hires will receive larger increases but have a smaller salary, while the more senior workers will get less but stay at a medium salary. I find this to be unbelievably unfair. How common are pay schemes like this? On a similar matter, the company does give bonuses at 5% for mere labourers like myself, but anywhere from 10-15% for management and sales people. My job uses metal detectors to bar you from getting phones into the building, they use a crappy excuse of security of information when any information one could access at the job is public information. The obvious true reason is because “time theft” how would one go about getting a phone through. I get anxious being that disconnected. I worry that something important will happen and I'll be needed and i won't be available.
For context, I am currently a receptionist at a doctor’s office. I got up Friday morning and had really bad stomach issues. I had a horrible feeling in my stomach and threw up my breakfast after trying to eat it. I took some pepto bismol and texted my manager that I would be 10 minutes late. She said “okay” but after that she said “Keep in mind that we have two 8:45 appointments and being late will inconvenience the office.” I was scheduled to get there at 8:30 and ended up getting there around 8:40. I honestly wanna quit after that but I don’t have any other options to make money, lol. I really don’t understand how 10 minutes will make that much of a difference. Am I overreacting or was this wrong of them?
