I see they come up with all kind of policies for health, mental care, etc. maybe as per law they would need to provide health insurance, etc. or basically for solving workers disease as reactive solutions, but why don't they provide free membership to employees which would have real impact of their health and have preventive healthcare solutions?
I work for a smaller hospital in the US and have done so for over 10 years now. While I enjoyed what I did/do, I and a lot of my coworkers were severely underpaid (were told the pay was correct despite hospitals within an hour of us paying 5+dollars more per hour for similar jobs) and treated like hot garbage. That was before covid happened. Pre and during covid I worked in patient care and had a fairly tough job with no elbow support, running short, bad management, and taking call at all hours. But jobs weren't plentiful so I sucked it up and for what it's worth carved out a nice life for myself and my family. Then I got a great opportunity to transfer to a different department that had much better management, a better quality of life, and lower stress levels and it has been great. About…
I’m quitting without notice.
This brand is incredibly slimy and does not actually believe in the values that they promote. I work nights for a fairly known mall store and have experienced an abundance of unethical practices. I’m also expected to accomplish things way beyond my pay grade (I make several cents above minimum wage and no commission or sales incentives.) The last straw for me was my colleague’s focus on milking as much money as possible out of a woman who was visibly sobbing because she was grieving. Upselling and making sales that you receive no additional compensation for should not be what you’re worried about when a customer is clearly distraught and wants to be left alone. The hours are far and few and ridiculous. I have a day job that I really enjoy so far. I don’t really care about burning any bridges because I’ll probably never give that store another…
Currently employed but wanted to look around. Saw a local outpatient diagnostic center had a job available and it would be a better schedule without call or holidays so I figured I would apply. I got a response the next day on Sunday. They asked me what a good time for an interview was, I told them 3pm Wednesday. They messaged me back asking if 3:30pm was okay for Wednesday which I said it was fine. Moments later they emailed me back asking if 3pm was okay because they already have someone for 3:30 so I just let that slide and said okay. 9 minutes before the interview on my lunch break they send me an email saying “actually we are cancelling the interview and we will do a working interview instead, what day is good for you?” I ignored it. They called me at 3 asking if I saw…
Never go through hr
Don’t even feel guilty
So the long of the short of it is, the dental office she’s been with his been rather tumultuous at best but she stuck it out because she really likes her coworkers. They were never really doing well and it looked liked they were struggling to stay afloat. Anyway a hygienist quit and they didn’t want to hire a new one so they laid my wife off (because she’s less certified than the other assistant) because they only needed one assistant. My wife was really happy about it. One thing I have to say about her is she is really upbeat and outgoing, really just a people person. Even many of the most difficult patients this office is had was able to handle them effortlessly and had them leaving the office smiling and giving her high fives and shit. Even having many patients asking about her when they’re scheduled a…
