Got in trouble for “gossiping” yesterday
So, I work in childcare. Yesterday, two of my bosses pulled my coteacher and I into the office because they overheard us “gossiping” the day before during nap time. We weren’t gossiping. We were venting about a situation that had happened with one of the bosses that had frustrated us. Both of us were involved in the situation, so it wasn’t like we were telling an unrelated third party. We didn’t say anything personal about the boss, everything was kept to the work incident. They reprimanded us for “not contributing to a healthy workplace environment”. So if I can’t vent to my coteacher who was there for the situation, who can I vent to? I really don’t understand the thoughts that went through their heads
I applied for a reasonably large public sector employer. Job is very similar to things I've done before and actually pretty niche. Expected to progress to next stage. First email arrived on the Monday but read so like spam it went to my junk folder but told me to expect a exercise to do on the Wednesday. Didn't see the email, but no big deal exercise arrives on the Thursday and due by midnight Sunday. I spend a couple of hours on it, send it in on time… and get an out of office that the person receiving it isn't back until Tuesday. Email on Wednesday, thanks they are looking at it and will let you know by the end of the day. Then… nothing. Checked online on the application area of their website and 4 weeks later marked as unsuccessful. Previously, I have had at least a knock back…
If you’re in a state with legal weed, I’ve heard that some places just test you because they have to and will still hire after a positive test if it’s only marijuana but not other drugs. Had a recruiter tell me this. Anyone ever test positive for weed and still get the job? Asking here because I feel this is the only sub where I’ll get replies that aren’t “JuSt sToP sMoKinG” bro, I have to smoke to bear going to work.
