Can I Build Your Website For Free?
Hey everyone! I recently stumbled upon a fellow entrepreneur who was kickstarting their web dev journey by offering to build websites for free. That inspired me, and I thought it's a great way to get started too. I've got some solid web dev skills under my belt, and I'm eager to put them to good use. I'm looking for around 10-15 kind souls who'd be open to having their websites built by me for free – it'll help me expand my portfolio and hone my craft. So, who's in?
I work in the food service industry, specifically in 2 hotels. One is a counter restaurant and the other one is banquets. It feels as if everyone is taking their job so seriously. I am not super fast but they want you to be at some fast-food speed at the first job. Then they force me go work 6 days, never really agreed to. Second, the banquets, almost everyone is some 50-60 year old guy which is not an issue but they have like 20-30 years of experience and they always love to point at mistakes without helping prior to prevent it. Then they bring people from a staffing agency to help and they seem to prioritize them. One of them bragged to me that they have no papers in this country and gets cash to work here. So yeah, am I that bad?
I think I’m being quiet fired?
I’m working part time in retail (among 2 other jobs, yay economy) and within the last month I have went from 20-25 hours per week to 0-4 which is almost always a weekend shift. Conversations with my manager have just been “oh our sales are low so upper management cut our hours” yet she has recently hired 2 additional associates to split the hours between. I no longer qualify for my benefits and am seriously about to quit. Am I being quiet fired?
Why are we never taught about workplace character defamation or libel and what legal recourse employees have? Weak leadership management and shitty HR at companies allowed toxic workplace to culture to multiply. In retrospect I was the victim of character defamation and libel. The libel was written in black and white and it was escalated all the way up to the VP who not only did nothing but added onto the bully and harassment. That event caused me great emotional distress. I wish I had been told that there could have been legal recourse for what I went through. Edit: I am not talking “taught” as in school, but society to its workers in general.
Job told me I was being promoted…
…Well now 6 weeks later they found an excuse not to. I was going to ask my General Manager what the meeting 5 weeks prior was about being that he said they were going to promote me to Level 3… but nothing since. His comments in a shit-show consult today regarding a pissed off customer pretty much sealed the deal for me. Technician and shop foreman failed their quality check and now I’m being faulted for their lack of oversight. Am I stupid for staying put?
Anyone in here formed a tenants union?
Needless to say, I'm not feeling great. Stumbling across that job listing felt like getting slapped in the face. They didn't contact me about the new listing, something I have mixed feelings about given how they handled my first application. This whole thing is just making me feel worse about jobhunting, and I can't help feeling like the cards are just getting stacked against me. I'm 25, I'm disabled, I live in a somewhat rural area, and while I have plenty of education in my line of work I don't have any job experience, and on top of all this I'm a trans man who doesn't pass. I just wish that someone would give me a chance, I want to be more independent, do something with my day instead of just waiting around to MAYBE hear back from employers while I ration out my jobseeker payments. I'm just tired.
I don't work at the Addison facility. This was sent to every store and facility we have, restaurant and otherwise
