Hey guys, My BF came home really upset over the text exchange with his boss. He works at a dispensary. He works as a bud tender 3 days out of the week and the other 2 days he is doing inventory. He wants to do inventory full time but his boss won’t let him because he is great at bud tending and he has the highest sales. I thought these texts were so demeaning and wanted to see what you guys thought.

Folks over in r/jobs told me to repost over here. Back in Feb, I put in pto request that I will be out of the office during the first week of July. Mind you I only requested three days because we get two days off for the holiday. Soon after he calls a meeting with everyone and says to stop requesting to take off multiple days at a time. He has no problem with “approving” time off when it’s only one day though. He pulls me to the side and tells me that it’s too soon to approve the pto because something might come up. Even if something comes up I won’t be here that’s why I’m putting in the request now…

So we are in a bit of a dilemma. My wife and I work for the same company. We are at different branches and working in different departments (shes a showroom manager and im in customer service/warehousing). My wife has been pursuing other employment and got an offer at a competitor. She put in her 2 weeks notice and the company I work for is saying if she takes that job, they will more than likely let me go because of a conflict of interest. This seems iffy to me. Should I contact a Labor Lawyer?

I was hired at the beginning of March, and in the process of my hiring and getting trained, the person who hired me left. Meaning all my specifications regarding schedule, school and my overall needs (that they agreed to/acknowledge) went out the door with them. Now current management and I have already butted heads once over my availability because of that, now this. I hate retail.

I’ve been in my field for over a decade. Healthcare, pretty niche, a specialty within a specialty if you will. I take care of two departments for a sizable and reputable practice in my area. It’s payday. During the last pay period I actually took lunch breaks (usually just work straight through), and had to miss a few hours for mental health appointments. I pay for the health insurance for myself, my husband and daughter, $450 a pay period. My check was kinda slim this go round, so I did the math. After paying insurance and gasp taking lunch breaks, my hourly wage breaks down to $13.50 an hour for the last two weeks. Thirteen fucking fifty. I can’t. I feel so defeated. I wanna buy a home and have somewhere that is ours. I wanna take a vacay. I feel so defeated. I have no idea how I’m ever…
