Small or Big- all companies suck

I have been burned by a big company i.e used to cover people's jobs and then fired/lied to. Now i work for a very small company and its disguising the owners flaunting their little wealth to their employees and deeming their workers. For example, overheard the boss that he wont even provide water for his employees and only does is when one of his top worker forced him and pesters him to buy little things for the office. This is a rant but also had an amazing interview with a much bigger company and now I am scared to jump ship in this economy… This place is garbage but why am I scared?

“why do you want this job?” oh i don’t know, maybe because if i don’t have one i’ll starve and not be able to eat. i dont “want” this job, i need it because we live in some fucked up society that tells me i need to be eager and willing to kiss so much ass to get a shitty job that doesn’t even pay well. i am so over these questions and my job search!

Why prices, inflation are still soaring: corporate price gouging — Business Insider

What we have all been saying for months! I first heard people talking about corporate price gouging on this sub. I’m glad there is data, a study, and an article in a larger publication finally acknowledging it. I brought this up in a finance class of mine at the start of the semester and my professor basically brushed it off. Hopefully less people brush it off now.

Asked if there was a legal way to break the law

I just want to rant: last week, while I was interviewing a candidate I was excited about for my team, my direct supervisor (our department head) said they wouldn’t hire the candidate because this candidate had longer manicured nails. Then my supervisor asked me to ask HR if there was a legal way to ask the candidate to cut their nails are part of the offer. I told my super I don’t think there is but I’ll check. I wrote to HR and got a resounding no, obviously, but now I’m the asshole for putting it in writing. I hate it here.

About to put in my notice at work. Just need support to not back out of it!

I’m about to walk into work, and before I leave will be letting them know Friday will be my last day. Here are some reasons: -Getting yelled at by my boss for 30 mins in front of clients and made to cry. Constant anxiety of when he will yell at me again. -Working 10-11hr days with no break (I barely eat) -Wants me to bring the office phone into the bathroom so I don’t miss a call -Getting yelled at when theres a cancellation(as if its my fault) -No benefits, no time off, god knows what they would do if I had a sick day. I’m also the only one here who knows how to do my job. All clothing I wear/my appearance being picked apart. Sat in an interview phone lobby for 2 hours and nobody showed up

I applied to be an associate operations manager at a well known bank. the only company to offer me an interview after applying to 109 other jobs in my area. After months of ai rejection letters they scheduled me a interview for today at 930. When i joined the chat room 15 minutes early and awaited my hiring manager to join, i pulled up my resume and a list of questions i had, and patiently waited for my person. By 10am i assumed they were running behind and sent an email asking if i should stay waiting or assume the interviews were cancelled. By 11 i left, wrote them another email and went back to applying. I called the bank office who told me they don’t directly hire, the talent managers pick there favorites and let the branch decide the final vote. So much for a “labor shortage” Im here.…

“Production was down last month” since I took over as team lead.

No shit, it’s because they took their best worker off of production and made them management. I worked my ass off to be one of the most proficient workers at my job. They “rewarded” me with a manager position (if I didn’t take it, our team was going to fall apart miserably). Now they’re all shocked-Pikachu that the production numbers are down in my first month, and it’s my fault. I’m supposed to “manage performance” and get to the bottom of why. They’re down because I’m not producing any more work, fuckin aardvarks. They relied too heavily on me to carry the team for two years, and now they’re left with the second string. No one else has the training or experience I do, so I’m also expected to do the toughest parts of my old job in addition to the new thing. I went from being the golden child…
