I have a large repository of reference info that I've built inside a OneNote notebook owned by my work 365 account. None of the information is sensitive/specific to my current company, and while it would take a ton of work to do, I could technically rebuild it offline with publicly available information. I'm getting increasingly concerned about being laid off, and ideally, I want to take a copy of this notebook with me. I used to have a separate VM set up to sync a copy of this periodically (I'd turn it on once a week to sync the latest changes). However, my company activated the Data Loss Prevention functionality of our 365 licenses last week, and all devices (laptop & mobile) now have to have Intune deployed to access any work resources directly. We also can't mount any external drives/network shares without a help desk password. Here is my…

Job Hunt Frustrations
I've been job hunting now for 5 months as I'm vastly underpaid in my current role. I'm degree educated, studying the equivalent of a masters and with 10 years of work experience. I've worked for the same company for 10 years, worked my way up from an apprentice to operations manager and I'm applying to jobs I know I could do like the back of my hand. Applied to 80+ jobs, I've been to 13 interviews and they always hit me in the last round with the “Somebody else has X specific experience so we've gone with them.” I get positive feedback, not one issue with me has been noted, but there's always somebody else. I'm applying to other management jobs in the correct wage bracket and it's so disheartening. In my job I wear about 5 different hats, and i'm applying to roles that are specifically geared towards one…
Hey everyone, I'm currently on the lookout for a super relaxed full-time remote job (programming, frontend, React), and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on which type of company I should choose. I want to work super efficiently for 4 hours a day (sometimes 8+ hours depending on the situation/deadlines) without interruption and get away with it instead of working 8 hours, but still get everything done that I need to. So I'm looking for a company that is not super strict about it and kind of company that wouldn't even notice if I didn't work for a few months. It's an exaggeration, but shows the point perfectly. Also, I'm curious if anyone has any tips for making it look like you're being super efficient to your managers/people above you/your colleagues so that you're being noticed. Like, I've thought of completing tasks and moving them on your board in…

I’m tempted to curse out my manager
I (23F) work in luxury retail for a Venezuelan fashion house as a sales assistant, and I have this shitty manager (39F) that has been a pain in the ass for the past 2 months; even other managers from other stores are not sure how exactly she got this position but then that says a lot about the company I work for since they hire crazy people, only for them to quit after 3-6 months max. Usually a day with my manager consists of her coming in either completely out of it (hung over or upset by the fact that her boyfriend of 14 years has cheated on her for what seems to be the billionth time), displaying neurotic behavior due to the fact that the spacing of hangers are off by either 0.5-1 inch, the placement of our bows on our uniforms, gossiping about other coworkers to the entire…
I’m going to try and give you the full perspective, so yeah it’s long, I’ll try to keep things interesting. Okay so I want to work. I spent my teens and 20’s working as an AV TECH but decided to switch trades and learn to become an electrician. I live in Australia and in order to become an electrician you have to land an apprenticeship, in order to get that you need to get a Certificate II IN ELECTROTECHNOLOGY which I did and ended up getting very good marks (not bragging but this is important for later). At the end of the course, actually a week before the end, they sat down our class in the classroom and the teacher said “okay so I’m assuming most of you have jobs lined up (ie positions to begin your apprenticeship), so how many of you don’t have jobs” About 10 of a…
