Its impossible to have a healthy work life balance with a 40 hr a week job 2 hour round trip commute in office every day

I will only ever work part time, half remote with office less than 30 mins away, OR a shift work job like 2/3 12's ever again. 40 hrs plus 2 hr commute a day is 50 hrs a week plus the amount of time spent getting clothes ready for work, making food for work etc. The commute is killer & by the time I get home at 6:30pm I don't want to do any of the things that make me happy bc I am so tired. My new job is half remote and I am hoping it'll help bring some balance to my world. Its the best when you can just close the laptop at 5pm and go exercise or cook a nice dinner with all the energy you DIDNT expend UNPAID on WORK (commuting on the subway, for me). It makes me spend MORE money on takeout or something…

Ready to call it quits.

I have no more will to continue working for a soulless person aka the corporation. I want to just quit. Default on all my obligations and head for the border and never look back. Screw them I’m going home

Indeed tomfoolery

I am currently very unhappy in my job and I’m trying to find literally anywhere else to work so I’m on indeed and it’s a dumpster fire. I live in chicago and the minimum wage is $15 tell me why they’re trying to offer the wages below minimum wage??? And why I kinda feel like they’re insinuating that they wouldn’t except reasonable accommodations which is literally required by the Ada.. there has been so many others places wanting to offer below minimum wage it’s crazy. I may be getting paid only $15.50 but I feel a little lucky even though I’m absolutely miserable in my current position. We are living in hell

I Wanted to Share My Story, I’m sure many others have experienced the same

Hi everyone! I wanted to say I find this Reddit super positive. I wanted to share my experience with my so called “quiet quitting”, and how I broke the curse to find a job that actually respects me, which is a wild first for me First off, I’ve worked as a QA Engineer/Tech Support for going on 6 years now. I’ve experienced all sorts of terrible jobs, with the highlights being a company that would take away your quarterly raises for “having to take too many sick days (I took three in an entire quarter)” or, I shit you not, “for complaining about not getting the previous raise”. The job I did want to highlight is a company I worked at for about 2 of these years. I started great, worked 7 months to work my ass off and was posting the best numbers in the department for number of…

The time I should’ve walked out of a job interview

Held on to this story for a few months bc I didn’t know where to share it but figured I’d post it here for someone to find. Set up to interview with a company let’s say at 1o clock. Get there at 12:50, and walk in the door. This business has everyone in the front at this point, as I would find out later. The manager, front desk lady, all employees. They’re in the middle of speaking about something so I just stay quiet, right? It hits 1 o clock. No one has even looked at me. They’ve just kept talking. Mind you, this place is a mess, we’re talking empty Amazon boxes piled high, narrow space to walk, overflowing trash can (??) and just crap everywhere. Alarm bells are ringing. 1:05. Still no one’s talking to me or looking at my. Haven’t even gotten a “just give me a…
