The fans and a/c were turned off in my warehouse and a couple of us on the 3rd floor were complaining and I said “maybe we should use the magic U word— Union…” and my coworker physically stepped back from me and said “the cameras have microphones, don’t get me fired.” And started physically describing what I was wearing as if to ensure the cameras wouldn’t think he had said “Union.” The one single word. My current job (I started at the beginning of the month) is withholding 28% of my paycheck in taxes. I live in a state with no income tax, so kind of confused why federal withholding and social security are so high. Naturally no one has bothered to get back to me.

What is the final push we need for every one of us to stop going to work? If we used strength in numbers there is nothing they could do. A mass strike for anyone who is a wage slave would force them to change things.

My crew nominated me as a representative to speak for them and bridge the gap between corporate and us low level plebs I served my crew well for a year and had pride in the way I would sort incidents and disagreements out of the bosses view. The kicker is my bosses family member (who's brand new to the crew) has taken over the role and not a single person got to vote on it. To preface this, I'm a server who make cash at the end of each shift ​ I was finding myself in a bit of a housing situation with my dog. My parents kicked me out after an argument so I was staying in a cheap hotel until I saved up for an apartment. I was walking my dog and some teenagers robbed me at gunpoint and took my phone, cards, and the cash in my wallet. When I immediately let my GM know, she raced to pick me up and bring me and my pup to her house.
