You have a right to know what your coworkers make to help you negotiate and reduce inequality. https://youtu.be/7xH7eGFuSYI I work in IT and have access to the database which stores this (I literally manage the database). I downloaded the pay details of everyone (salary + bonus). I then copied it out (by hand) to a new pc which runs tails. I emailed from this pc with some other anti tracking tools. They have no way of knowing it was me. I even deleted the log for this query so they can't even search to see who pulled it. Fuck my employer. Also fuck the one dude who treats IT like dirt. I increased his salary on the file by 50% so he tells people it's wrong and they don't believe him and they resent him for getting paid more.
Good evening, all. Let’s see if you guys can help me solve a puzzle here. I work for a building materials manufacturing company in eastern Pennsylvania. I am currently facing a labor crisis where I cannot find a way to motivate my production employees. I have tried many carrots. I have tried many sticks. My supervisors and I are running out of gas. I’ve tried raises, substantial raises. I’ve tried perks such as large value gift cards, PTO. I have tried positive reinforcement. I have given write ups. I have issued suspensions. I have terminated low performing staff. My staff don’t even blink. They run their own production schedule. Some days they finish early. Some days they decide to drag and work 14 hour days. They skip production pieces on a daily basis. I cannot afford to keep bleeding out like this. I have tried to find good candidates, but…
I work maintenance in a shelter everyone treats me very well.
Hi Reddit. I just graduated college but I really want a job. I want to get my own place. Right now I’m looking for salaries in the 85-90 range. But I’ve been finding jobs that are significantly lower around 60-65k. I know if I waited longer, I could get a higher salary, but I don’t want to be jobless for too long. It’s starting to get cold and I need my own place to have friends over to warm me up ;). I have some questions: Would you guys take a low salary when you are starting off your career? how would you negotiate when you know the salary is now in what you expect? -should I just buckle down and only stay in my range? Even if it takes longer to get a job? Any advice helps!
I work in a hospital, already started looking for/applying for new positions. Our floor management and director are so openly sexist, racist, gaslighting, even using staffs home life as part of their gaslighting. Just one example is: we should learn to be more empathic to our sexually harassing verbally and physically abusive patients and we should really think about what the patient is going through before we think about how it affected us….. Things that a 10-year-old could see probably shouldn't be said out loud. *these patients are not mental health, dementia, yadah yadah, these are alert and oriented grown adults who know very much what they are saying and doing* I've looked into reporting it to OSHA. Thought about going to HR. Kept all my emails and documents of events. Has anyone ever gotten anywhere by reporting? I know the hospital is a greed machine and I really don't…
Just have to share my story: So we got our annual raises and newer hires started complaining to the supervisor about how 3% is not fair. We always only get 1,2, or 3%. But the boss and supervisor said maybe they can negotiate with payroll; like we can set personal goals for ourselves and if we reach quotas we can get a couple extra bucks. Management started discussing how they want to keep people longer and maintain morale; tried to bounce ideas off me. That sounds great the only thing I personally found funny is this is the same management that when I was having trouble with a coworker last month suggested I can demote myself if i want if I’m not happy I applied to go back to school the day they said that shit to me. You want to know how to retain people? Maybe don’t insult an…
We bought a new place two months before lease ended and mostly moved out – yes it was a mess for those two months but we were still paying rent – so technically still living there.
