Boss bragging about record profits today. I asked why we had managers that still haven't received wage increases yet and was told they wouldn't receive their raises until labor went back down, I also pointed out that with 2.5 million dollars profit it would only cost around 30k to provide us with health insurance. Was told I needed to “calm down” and I was being “inappropriate”.

Has anyone else experienced this? I was hired at my company to do a job, and now they have me not only doing a different job in the wake of someone who left, but I’m now on my second trainee. It’s been 6 months of having to do a job I wasn’t hired for (1.5 years at the company), and every attempt I have made to become a manager has been backburnered. I currently report to a VP, who does not “get into the weeds” for this role I’ve been subbing in for, so I’ve had to do so and report out. They call what I’ve been doing “just keeping the lights on” despite high performance. I’m afraid to push my manager, because I don’t know if what they’re doing is illegal in any way. But it sure does feel bad.

Hello, I have hand in my resignation letter because of I got offered a very nice opportunity to go back to University and progress with my studies,on a field that every single person I worked with knows is my true passion. I worked at my company for just one year and I am at a very junior position,I am not a top notch employee, but I have done some relevant work and projects , but nothing that can't be replaced. The issue is that my company has a “great” policy of 3 months notice , and I have kindly asked if they could have let me go one month before the 3 months ( so 2 months notice) so I could start following my lessons at university. My boss was fine with that but HR and the boss of my boss wont allow me to go, for some unknown reason.…

I've been job hunting recently and landed a new job that I interviewed for… with a human. Two humans actually. It was over Zoom but it was still an actual interview with an actual person. I recently got an email from one of the other jobs I applied for around the same time and the want to move on to the “next stage” which apparently involves me dressing up and filming myself answering questions. They had the gall to actually say this was an interview. I won't be responding. I cannot believe that a federal job is doing this video crap. An interview is supposed to go both ways. You are interviewing the company just as much as they are interviewing you. But no. This way, they have even more of an upper hand as if they even needed it. They have removed all semblance of agency from the candidates.…

Hello everyone, I’m not sure if this where to post this, but I was wondering if you could advise me on this issue. My relative’s company recently sent us a statement of their retirement profit-sharing account. The previous year’s balance was around $70,000 but dropped to $67,000 due to the “LossGain” section saying -$9,000 accompanied by the “Contribution” section saying $6,000. Is this allowed/legal? I thought profit-sharing balances from previous years weren’t supposed to experience losses? Sure maybe no gains if the company lost revenue, but for the balance to drop from the previous year seems wrong to me. Can someone with better understanding of this explain it to me? After trying for a year , I managed a working student job in Germany. I was very very excited for this job. Today was my first working day and at the end of work, I was informed that I have to leave the job in 2 weeks. The reason was that they don't have any project going on. Although they told me it was nothing because of my appearance and my qualifications. I feel like it has something to do with my personality or maybe because of my lack of German language skill. I am feeling hopeless. They could have told me that they didn't need me. Why hire me then fired me.

Question for all of you. What is up with (what I believe to be) the misconception of being a salaried employee and being required to work far more than 40 hours per week? My manager recently fed me the line “I shouldn’t need to remind you that you’re a salaried employee now” after I had asked to leave a 4, which might I add is when my scheduled day ends. I’ve heard this before that salaried employees are expected to work past their posted hours, why do employers feel like that is expected of salaried employees? If anything I feel as though someone on a salary shouldn’t work past 40 hours because in all reality they aren’t being paid for beyond 40. Is this just come corporate BS that’s been pushed for years and is now a mentality in and of itself? Let me know what you all think.

Just had a meeting where we were told that our shif is the worst one in the factory we make too many mistakes, 15 in the last month, the other shifts don't make any. Now I'm on the shit list for pointing out that it's very suspicious that the other shifts don't make any mistakes and are perfect.
