Context: My last job was shit. I was there for three years, never a promotion or pay raise but plenty of additional responsibility. I was already underpaid when I started and was told I would get more “opportunities” but they never appeared in more meaningful ways. Upper management was so manipulative and micromanage-y it was insufferable. Now, the company is VERY small and if I wrote this review they'd know it was me. Pros: Writing this review gives future potential employees the BIGGEST red flags to warn them of this shit hole. They only have 3 other negative reviews on there, but when I applied I didn't put much weight behind those negative reviews because it seemed like a couple scorned employees. Now I realize how RIGHT they were and I want to back that message. It also gives me a chance to fully express my frustrations with the company…

Pay Your People
I easily won my wage theft case against my last employer. Never hesitate to file when you can prove you weren't paid.
Morning thoughts!
So I have had many thoughts this morning about people who bash others for job hopping or having a gap in their resume. Why do companies do this? Do people not realize that job hopping every 2 to 4 years increases education, experience, opportunities, and even SALARY? Like do companies not realize that people also move? Maybe somebody is in college and worked a job in the field for a year while going to school then moved back home or moved to another town? Why punish somebody for making their life better or taking the next opportunity that comes up? At 5+ years in one position the market literally passes you by if you are not getting at least 6% to 8% yearly raises. I literally was told by a family member that 8% is a promotion….LIKE ARE YOU DEAD SERIOUS? Or what if somebody needed to take off a…
Interviewer can’t handle the truth
Years ago I was repeatedly pestered by this recruiter to take a phone interview. It wasn’t my dream job, but I reluctantly agreed. The interview started pretty uneventfully. Then the guy asked me “why do you want this job?”. I can’t be too honest and say “I don’t really, but the recruiter would not stop pestering me about doing this interview”, so I straight up told him why I would want any job: “so that I can pay my bills”. That did not go over well. He ended the interview right then. My recruiter ghosted me as well. First of all, why do interviewers insist on asking these moronic, cliched questions that everyone has heard a thousand times, that only get the same moronic, cliched answers? Second, why is it so offensive to him that I was being totally honest with my answer? Does he really think most people go…
my own interview tale – got rejected
maybe i was naive.. but i just had left a role where the workplace was toxic, CEO was a man child (company initials HS, just in case they are looking here.. yes you are a manchild!!) anyway interviewed for a new company, it was all going well, and i was honest about my previous role and how despite giving it all, stress and hair loss etc i had learnt an important lesson, and in my naivety i said i will not go overboard for a company ever again… cue feedback 'some bs' and i didnt get the job..
Denied PTO for Dr’s appointment
Pretty much that. Desperately need to see ENT but the only one here is booked out until October. Have an appointment in a few weeks about 4 hours away but my supervisor just denied my PTO for the day. These appointments are hard to come by. I'm going to try and move it, but it's not likely. My husband says just call in, that I would have a doctor's note anyway, but isn't that suspicious with already asking for it off?
Why Do Jobs Lie to Us?
I guess this is sort of a rant, but I have been applying for new roles ever since my last company was purchased by a larger company. I do mostly HRIS maintenance and policy/procedure consultation and applied to a company to run their HCM software and oversee future mergers, etc etc. I went through five (yes, five) interviews. Each time I talked to the recruiter after and each time we spoke about salary and PTO, etc. Each time she told me a salary range and a PTO number. Both numbers I was fine with. I got offered the job yesterday and was so excited and she told me she’d be sending the offer letter via e-mail and I’d “be delighted” with the numbers. I open the offer and It’s 10 grand less than the minimum number we had been speaking of and 2 weeks less PTO. Like why even mention…
