My manager has me working 10 hour shifts when im 15

A couple days ago he had me working 11 hours and on Wednesday he wants me to work another double shift for 10 hours. I'm gonna make up some bs excuse to not work the whole day but is this not illegal? I looked it up and in idaho (my state) minors 14-15 are not allowed to work over 8 hours a day. He is kinda pissing me off. I'm only gonna bring up how its illegal if he pushes against me on this but wtf dude

I feel like work is definitely giving me depression

TL;DR My work situation has gone from pretty comfortable to almost torturous, It's giving me depression. It feels like my boss is gaslighting me but I can't prove it. I work at a major hotel chain as an in-room dining associate. (I take food from the kitchen to guests rooms) and I feel as if I'm going through depression right now. I am also dealing with a boss who is gaslighting me which is a horrendous feeling. So I started this position a little over 15 months ago. During the initial interview with my current scheduling manager and another manager who is no longer with our location, I was offered the hours of 10 am to 3 pm. IN the entire time I've worked there I have never once seen this shift. all my shifts start at 6 am now. I used to ask him all the time when…

Not getting paid what i should

I started working at a huge retail chain (one of the biggest in australia) and noticed they are paying me half of the hours that I'm doing, for example for a 6hr shift im only getting paid for 3 hours. I asked my manager and he said he's only paying me for half of the hours because im new and he's not getting 6 hours of productivity out of me. Is this legal? What would you do? I don't want to lose this job so idk what to do, should i just suck it up and wait until they start paying me properly?

Are hourly workers looked down upon more than salaried workers? PIP related

So I've been put on the PIP, and next Tuesday I will know my fate. If it were up to me, I would pass myself, because I worked hard, learned to communicate with my coworkers, become more efficient, diligent, focused and produce work correctly as needed. But who knows, I'm skeptical because I had a chance to not be put on the PIP, but I was put on it anyways because a coworker had a nitpick about how I was trying to be more thorough, but to them they felt I wasn't being focused enough. I'm an hourly worker, I think everyone else except one other coworker in my department is salaried. Do large corporations like my company tend to single out workers like me, because I'm hourly? Since they're forced to pay me if I exceed 8 hours? What's your opinion?

I hate how we as employees are so exploited

sorry for my bad english not my first language, i'm currently working as customer service on a call center company outside US. basically a BPO company. there are several BPO company in my city, but one i currently on made me realize how greedy this company is, first my salary – when converted is only $1.67 per hour, it's like sweatshop labor but a little more sophisticated. Second is other company offers a lot of perks but the company only has an annual raffle which i think is ridiculous. lastly is the annual increase of $12 added for a whole month salary. the only thing that keeps me working on this company is that they still offer work at home set up which helps a lot as a student. corporate greed as it's finest

So, yeah…

First time post here. This is the most interesting sub I have found and want to contribute some of my vibe. Without getting into too many revealing details. I work for a corporate company and basically just travel around to people houses and fix their shit for them. It’s been 3 years so far and was really great at first as the pandemic was going on with minimal oversight on us. Skip to last year and the company started to claw back hours from employees and basically steal money from checks. No breaks, no benefits, no sick days, no holidays. They raised prices on clients to the point where almost no work was coming in. I had finally had enough when they brought on new people at a higher wage than what I was making. So I fucking quit without notice and told them how fucked they were and they…

How do sick hours work and am I supposed to be getting them?

I started working for this company last year and I believe it started without about 40 sick hours for pay. I’ve been a few times and now I believe it’s down to 23. When I look at my ADP account to show me how many sick/vacation hours I would have in December, only the vacation hours increase. Is this a bug from the ADP app or is my job really not going to give me additional sick hours? I would that it would increase because we are all human and sometimes do get sick, it would suck to use vacation hour for pay/opt in for no pay due to not wanting to use those hours.
