How does one convincingly lie on their resume to get a higher paying job. Assuming you can walk the walk and/or talk the talk, how do you claim experience or education you dont actually officially have in order to secure a hire without getting caught? I know it happens… Is it just a numbers game or is there a legit strategy to becoming one of those clueless, overpaid employees that would inevitably be my coworker, if I did care enough to go above and beyond at my job.

Could I lose my job?
The state of Pennsylvania may be raising their minimum wage. We've had trouble hiring in my dept (I'm not totally sure why because the wages are fine for how easy and fun the job is); we should be a 3 full time, 2 part time crew. We have 2 full + 1 part timers. My boss has been very open with me that they strictly cannot raise the wages in my dept… But they will have to because of the law (if I'm understanding it correctly). By 2026, minimum wage will be $15 per hour. So the question is, will they be making us do 2 jobs (like they already are due to short staffing) and raise our hourly wage by $1? Or will they just straight up not hire someone to fill the position or fire someone? I'm not getting worked up over anything, especially if the minimum wage…
My job makes me feel indifferent
I’ve been at my job now for a year n half. It is honestly the longest job I’ve ever had Some background, I’m 29 and I’ve job hoped A LOT. I worked a lot in automotive, commercial warehouses and delivery driving. Major asshole ran industries that don’t care for employees. I’d hop jobs about every 7-9 months. The work would be unbearable (examples being underpaid, no breaks given even though they took it out of my paychecks, favoritism, sometimes not paid overtime etc) I busted my ass to get out of warehouses and landed myself a corporate desk job. I enjoy finally working indoors and in the AC, but my current job is draining me. I’m a customer service representative it’s not a bad job, I don’t deal with the general public, I only work with customers who bought our equipment and there purchasers. However before i started there was…
My wife's work (a major hospital network mind you) denied her 4 days of leave because the note of absence only said “Surgery” as a reason for missing work on the forms they require. They needed it to say “Stomach Surgery” The state of Missouri is a cesspool, and this anti worker sentiment that the red states cling to is maddening. She and her coworkers can't touch, and haven't been able to touch their “Sick pay” (Seperate from Paid Time Off) because of crap like this. So now, she MUST use all possible PTO to cover for those days. Just infuriating.
Wtf are these companies thinking? I definitely clicked report on this one.
She got fired instead. I found out a week and a half ago from a colleague, my boss wanted to have me fired. So I started to create a paper trail, if I get fired, to ensure I would get unemployment. I filed an EOE complaint. (I will not go into specifics.) She wrote up me for low numbers. I went to HR. She retaliated and wrote me up about a situation with an applicant – I work for a government program run by the Department of Labor. (Did she think she could break laws and get away with it?) I went to DOL with a complaint, she was escorted out the door. And, it's been confirmed she's not going to come back. Because she was so toxic, I have been sending out resumes. I have a job interview tomorrow, and I hopefully, I get the job tomorrow.
Why do women have to work?
I'm a 24 year old women working since 17 and I am tired. I don't want to work anymore and everyday is a struggle. I come from a family where my mom was a SAHM and didn't have to work a single day in her adult life. It makes me so envious and jealous to hear how good she had it back in the day. Why did women have to fight for the right to work? I think it's a horrible thing and I literally feel like a slave working my life away when I should be able to be with my husband everyday instead of with my boss at work everyday.
What would you say
So sick of these weirdly personal and off-topic questions through job hiring sites. Give me your best answer
The emotional side wants to so badly, but the logical side is thinking of possible consequences for that. Those review sites are anonymous, and obviously that would make it not as much so. I did sign a non-solicitation agreement and wondering if that could break that agreement, that is if those agreements are even enforceable. What say y'all?
