Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. It's essentially what the title is. A few hours ago, my boss has sent me a message asking if I can work tomorrow. It would be inconvenient and I don't feel like going. What should I do? I don't really love this job but it's whatever and I wasn't scheduled. However, it feels like they really need someone because the owner and my manager both messaged me. I didn't even open the message or anything, I just saw the notification.

3% I've always been told I'm one of the high performance/high potential employees, yet my raises are rarely more than 3%. Sometimes as low as 1.5% I had a couple 10% early in my career but thats easy when it equates to a few grand. But the thing is… My goals are always AT LEAST 10% business growth. Usually 25%… 50%… 2x. Depending what i'm focusing on that year. What even is the point if an extra million (or more) for the company means an extra $3000 for me?

What’s the consensus on putting away your shopping cart (trolley for you monarchists): Put it away to save the employee work, or leave the carts willy nilly all over the lot to secure their steady employment?

At one point I don’t wanna go to HR but the sad part is I don’t have a car and my boss is a pushover. Last year a man threatened to shoot me on the basis I challenged what he said and said No, the customer isn’t always right So he has been ‘nice’ since that, he got off-road diesel today and I had no idea who got it, I ask if we can do two transactions as the register doesn’t allow adding fuel that’s been suspended… Oh I don’t wanna do 2 transaction! It's not just instacart, it's all of the apps. If you've ever taken an uber, ordered doordash, or needed a quick grocery run but didn't have the time, please consider signing. We need prop 22 or something similar across the whole country otherwise the gig economy will completely collapse. A lot of people do it as their 2nd/3rd jobs. Recently joined LinkedIn out of curiosity and realized how insidious(? idk if insidious is the right word because it’s not subtle; it feels like they’re bashing you over the head with it..) the propaganda is. “80 year olds love working”?!? Who is writing this? Are there regular actual human beings on LinkedIn? You work at Lockheed Martin and can live with yourself? I know that a job’s a job, but I feel like you can just not work at Lockheed Martin or Raytheon. I feel like lots of people don’t work at Lockheed Martin or Raytheon. If you’re gonna work there, the least you can do is be slightly ashamed. Like idk what I expected but I definitely didn’t think it was this asinine. This post has probably been done to death, but damn is LinkedIn just the propaganda arm of Microsoft? Sorry for poor formatting.

I'm the assistant manager for a spa. I have been for the past 8 months, and was doing the job of the shitty assistant manager before me, long before that. My manager has taken almost every opportunity to take advantage of me. She has left on week long trips every month and expects me to do all her work while she is gone (payroll, inventory, orders). She makes me come in on my days off for interviews (she can do them herself, she just “really wants my opinion”), meetings, you name it. She has never done that. She even asked to switch MY vacation time (which I never take, but it was my anniversary with my partner so I thought why not?) so SHE could have it because it “worked better for her” and essentially took my vacation.
