To show the Studios that we, as consumers, are with the workers. Since studio executives want the union strikers to lose their homes. We should help the evil executives lose their jobs.

I'm a pretty competent programmer. I don't have education and in my country it's pretty hard to get a job without it. So I had to lie my way into the workforce, and I've got to say that it's worked very well for me. Up until my first real job the rest of my resume is a complete fabrication, I have 1/3 the experience that my resume has I say, but since I've always been coding in my free time because I'm a nerd nobody has noticed yet. I have two problems I want to make a carreer change, I want to find a job as a rust programmer. I don't have any professional experience with it but I've programmed with it in personal projects for a long time (1.5 years). Crazy. I know. And I also know that most industries have paper thin margins and tons of overhead for running a business, so why does it seem impossible to find shops like this now? I'll happily take some seed capital and start a business where I don't take the lions share of the profit and don't make 10 my lowest paid employee and don't pay them only minimum wage. Is this just not viable anymore?

I was watching a video on quiet quitting and sent it to a few of my friends (both me and them are gen z) and also my father (gen x). My friends’ reaction was as expected, they agreed, but my father went on a rant about how this generation is doomed because we don’t respect our employers and we don’t want to put in the extra work etc. My father is currently unemployed and haven’t had a stable job in at least 15 years because when a company is downsizing he is the first one to get fired (even tho he says he put in a lots of work). I’m just flabbergasted because even tho he got fired from each company just within one year, was working unpaid for months and now is unemployed, he still thinks that companys actually care about him and his hard work.

So I was working in a dental lab for a year, never had complaints about my work etc and me plus 2 others have to work with a guy in there who does the finishing/shading on crowns etc in his section of the lab. He’s self employed and the rest of us aren’t. He’s an alcoholic with serious issues and very angry all day and makes his problems ours. Me and another decided to complain to the employer due to the constant anxiety from being involved in his aggressive ranting and profuse swearing etc. he was talked to and he’s also highly valued due to his level of work and them. There were talks about there being changes to the lab in the sense that there was going to be a milling machine out in one section and we would be squished together a bit more. I've been at this new paper mill job for almost two months now, and it's been one of the worst experiences of my life. I had 3 days worth the training on 1 machine at a modest pace before they decided to throw me on a completely different machine the following week at a crazy fast pace meaning my 3 days worth the training was essentially down the tubes because i wasn't doing the same thing i was trained on. Then i check the schedule each and every single week and i'm one of only like 4 people in the entire mill who isn't assigned a machine, meaning i don't have a set position and i'm expected to do everything in said mill at an insanely fast rate while consistently asking my bosses what i have to do like a slave or else be fired which is just crazy to…

Two spring to mind for me. I was once told by my manager in a performance review that I walk too slowly. This was in an office, walking had no relevance to my role which was technical support but I would walk around from team to team to go and help people who had questions if it was easier to show them in person than by email / call. Bizarrely enough I’m one of those fast walkers (drives my wife mad), I’ve no idea what kind of pace I was using in the office but I doubt it was slow. Instead of pushing back, and probing into what exactly the issue was (if I was walking slowly what impact was that having on me / others?) I work as an Engineer, for a company, suddenly my boss is getting obsessed, with adding value to our work. Is it me,or am i not brainwashed enough?🤷🤦
